Stans met with his Daddy Tarheel and told him Ben would not be a confirmed starter, that he would come off the bench. Ben is a decent shooter, decent decision maker, but too short and slow to play SEC defense. You know things are bad when other teams start running offense setsbased on who Ben was guarding.
So he is too short and slow to play SEC defense, but hecan play Big East defense?
Not buying it.
First off, he isnt that short. He is taller than a TON of SEC guards. And sure he isnt as quick as Fortson or Downey, butdamn nearnobody is, andevery SEC team has an opposing guard/wing getting good minutes that isnt a speed burner.
What is Ravern's excuse for ****** perimeter defense? He clearly has the height AND the quickness/athleticism to play SEC defense.
Hansbrough has been an excellent player for ND. He is a reliable ball handler, an excellent outside shooter, seems to be a good floor leader whenneeded, and isnt a little ***** afraid to take contact.
His skill setwould have helped us a ton this year...even if he isnt Fortson fast.
