Are you saying change coaches then give the new coach advantages regarding the hwc. Wouldn't it be easier to give the current coaching staff the same advantages you think any new coach will require?
Pretty depressing if Circle is right, that we have no chance of landing a guy like Nolf with no college experience. Not even to build his resume some, then move on to a job he actually wants when it opens up? Wow. So we will be lucky to get a no name mediocre coach from a small mediocre no name program? Hope TnT work til they die!

This would make perfect sense, however the University of Iowa isn’t going to do that.

Listen to the Burroughs interview. “You can literally go to Stillwater from the age of 5 to 35 and they have dough.” OSU, PSU and probably others operate in the grey areas, Iowa won’t. If we hired a coach who had athletes under their tutelage in college and graduated at their current RTC or club, could Iowa accommodate them?

Because we can’t offer recruits the ability to attain immediate international freestyle success, while they are in college, puts us at a tremendous disadvantage.

Why hasn’t Iowa had one single guy competing for age level International Freestyle medals while they are in school?

Gilman won a JR bronze while at Iowa . Caliendo wrestled at u20 trials and he won u23 trials. Cassioppi as well. Go look at trials brackets they have had more guys then you think try

My apologies, I intended for my question to be interpreted as competing in the actual age level World Championships tournament.
Thanks to you and the others for the information on our guys.

How long can schools operate in the “grey area” before it’s no longer grey? For PSU, it’s been 15 years. At some point, don’t we need to accept that TPTB are okay with it? 15 years seems like a long time without so much as a hand slap.

much of the DT/OSU conversations during the hiring phase was about the RTC and related funding. DT would not be in Stillwater without that piece of the puzzle being available for recruiting and practice partners.

Have your compliance department talk with ours.
Your 2nd paragraph is spot on. See above sentence.

The issue is money, but not how much JB will be paid. He’ll want a good deal for sure, but he’s gonna want money for recruits, rtc members, and his assistant coaches more so. ISU was able to find a sugar daddy so I’m sure Iowa will as well. Probably won’t be a billionaire though.
Tom is the 3rd highest paid coach and not many schools have as much support/money as Iowa.
