Bill Belicheck = huge pile of ****.

I actually like Kraft but Belicheck is an *******.

He signed a linebacker who had cancer and he kept Bruschi for 2 years following his stroke. The Pats are moving from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and have made some other moves for linemen this off-season. Seems to be the odd man out.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Belicheck for the same reasons everyone else does, but he didn't get rid of him because of diabetes. That would be the easiest law suit of all time considering his doctor cleared him. Bill's on record stating that it's a sign of respect releasing guys at the beginning of summer because it gives them the best chance of signing with another team. He wasn't tradeable. He makes close to league minimum (if not) and every team who would want him knows they could get him on waivers.

Not just because I'm a Saints fan, I would like him to go to NOLA. They're moving to a 3-4 and he has value as a bench player. Cap friendly and he's a safe bet as a backup and 3rd down 4-3 DT, which I assure you the Saints will have in their arsenal.

It's a business and they've changed their defense. Can't take it personal that one of our guys gets released.

Great post....

Here is hoping he lands on his feet somewhere. Being released this early you would think its likely.

Wish him the best too, BUT, 6'1 315lbs (thats ~130# overweight) is not conducive to "managing" his diabetes, thats likely the major contributing factor in the first place. Any of us that went to the Dr @ that same weight/ht would be told to immediately get the weight off or face the consequences.

come on peep. I think you are being a little harsh with the ~130 lbs over weight. You want kyle love to drop to ~185 lbs. No way, No how not this guy. Yeah he could lose 50-60 lbs and still be a big guy but not necessarily overweight. 185 for a 6'1 guy with a large frame is about impossible

But thats the issue, he would be overweight even if he were 60lbs lighter. Even with that big frame, he would be overweight.
Just because someone has a big frame doesnt mean they cant be overweight. Perhaps they will struggle to control their weight, or perhaps their realistic weight will always be considered 'overweight', but a large frame doesnt mean they cant be overweight.

Being 6'1 and 255lbs falls into the category of OBESE.
And even though one's BMI is less accurate the more athletic and active you are, one look at Love will tell you that he would fall squarely into the obese category, even as an athlete and losing that much weight.

This isnt knocking him. His job is to close holes in the line and he needs size to do that. His job effectively requires him to be morbidly obese. And when he is finally done, hopefully he can lose a ton of weight, so his joints and heart dont suffer later on. He will be less active at that time, BMI will be a more accurate indicator, and he will still be obese at the numbers you and the other poster list.
But again, it would be WAY better than his current numbers. Anything helps.
