Agreed. I love how the 'naysayers' spout all of this stuff without ever talking to the guy. Oh well, now back to sports.

Good job VZ. 17 all of you thinking that he's out to get MSU.

Hint: It's in his personal best interest for MSU to succeed.

This may be the first time we have ever agreed on anything in the entire time we have known each other. Oh, and that we like MSU. That is two.

The casual butchering of the written word, bragging about it in such a clearly public manner. One big joke. Sorry if the rest of you philistines don't "get" it. That's just how we roll. Move along now. Nothing more to see.

Just ask Cecil Hurt. The only way that guy has survived is by doing what the university tells him. It's the Crimson Tide way.

If you spew anything negative, you better be prepared to find another job.

Veazey helped get this thing legs and you all know it.

It got legs when recruits went to a strip club.

VZ is the best beat writer we have had since Sekou and guarantee he is one of the best BCS team beat writers when it comes to new media. If the entire Clarion Ledger embraced new media like VZ, they would be on the cutting edge nationally.

However, I think he handle this poorly and should have waited awhile to report anything until after he knew more about the story.

not sure if that's right or wrong, but it's true. I'd rather it have gone away myself. Fortunately, we have an administration that won't be *** raped over things like this.

What make you think that? It is in his interest to report the most shocking (negative) story about MSU.

If MSU succeeds, VZ, a damn good writer, gets read more.

If MSU succeeds, VZ, a damn good writer, gets noticed more by the big boys in the business.

I point to one Sekou Smith, who parlayed the MSU beat during the late 90s at the Clarion Ledger to an NFL beat job in Indianapolis, to an NBA beat job in Atlanta, at one of the nation's largest papers.
I point to one Ian Rapaport, who parlayed the MSU beat during the 2003-04 basketball run into the Alabama beat job at Alabama's largest paper.

I defended him in the past.

But, he made this a "story". If it weren't for him stirring the ****, we wouldn't all smell it.

My dad got his law degree at Ole Miss and you will never meet a bigger bulldog. Plenty of people get post graduate degrees or finish up their degrees at places. That doesn't make them fans. I think he went to undergrad at Murray State.

That also gets him attention.

I don't dislike a guy b/c of School affiliation, but when he openly tries to hurt my school, yeah I think he is a 17ing 17 stick douche.

He openly tries to hurt MSU. He digs into the things that can hurt us and instead of trying to refute them he gets headlines like "Recruit: Strip club post a 'joke'".

He leaves it open. Hey I was showing it was a joke. But ask this question, is there any way that headline can do anything but hurt us? Seriously. Can that headline do anything but hurt us? Then he writes **** in his article like "the recruit said it was a joke. BUT".

He may be a good writer, but he is an OM homer and doesn't want state succeeding.

People are bitching because UM's beat writer either is lazy or doesn't want to rock the boat in Oxford. Most anything negative that is reported out of Oxford comes from Memphis reporting. It isn't Veazy's fault that he is acting like a professional instead of being a mouthpiece of the university.

....that he is out to get us and is an "Ole Miss fan." My wife finished her undergrad at a different school. She hasn't been back and wears maroon on Saturdays. It's hard for some of us to imagine, but some people actually do attend school based on what programs different schools offer.

This is non 17'n story, yet our wonderful beat writer has made it front page news. Congrats, VZ - you really are a 17'n douche. Some kids went to a strip club - Big Fvcking Deal!

...it's not a nonstory. As much as we wish it wasn't, it's a story. Just like 4 klansman on the Ole Miss campus was a story. Seriously, Genespage is where you belong.

a story when 18 year old kids go to a strip club. It is, however, a story when said 18 year olds are at a University for an official recruiting visit and go to the strip club.

Always trying to keep his sixpack internet cred up to par 'n ****. So, if some of our baseball players are spotted at The Pony, someone should call the NY Times. It would be the biggest story of 2010!
