The game would obviously be at Loyola because it is the higher seed and both teams are hosting games this week (which is a dumb rule, but that's for a different thread I'm sure). I take it that the comment is an old barb at Domer. It seems kind of dumb and is tiresome to those of us who are newer to the board. Move on with some new material, huh?I hope my LA buddies have a home game against HF - if they're on the road, their fans might not get into the HF stadium.
Top-This will be a great game. Will come down to who wins the turnover battle and special teams

You do realize that the possible HF/Loyola matchup would occur in the 3rd round, correct? It would not "obviously be at Loyola". It will depend on the second round. If Loyola is home in the 2nd round, which will occur with a Stevenson win over Conant, and HF is on the road, which will happen with a Lyons win over NT, HF would get the home game in round 3.
I do realize it would be a 3rd round game. I don't, however, know why HF would get a home game in the 3rd round if LA is the higher seed and both teams had already had a home playoff game. Am I missing an even more crazy IHSA rule? I thought the only rule/guideline (whatever they call it) is that they get each team a home game and then it is based on seeding.
The higher seed gets the home game if both teams have played an equal number of home games. If Loyola and HF both play one (both on the road in round 2) or two home games prior to round 3, Loyola gets the home game. If Loyola plays 2 home games and HF plays only one prior to round 3, HF gets the home game.
Here's another example to help:
Loyola wins first round. They would play the winner of Conant (17) at Stevie (16).
If Stevie wins that game, they have to play @ loyola In round #2. As they have both played the same amount of home games (1), so it would then go to seeding.
If Conant wins, it's loyola at Conant 2nd round. As Conant has 0 home games to Loyola's 1.
