Lack of depth at Edge

I think the lack of depth at Edge with Geer's wrist injury is more of an issue than the OL's blocking struggles. Maybe I'll end up being wrong on this. But after Stewart and Thomas we have Geer and Umeozulu. And then Demon Clowney after that. George Wilson is pretty much out for the season after getting injured in camp. Jalen Brown is also out for the year I believe. I guess worst case they could move a linebacker over to Edge.

AND where is Zavion Hardy? WE lack DLine depth as well. Line backers and DBs look pretty solid IMO.
Linebackers will only get better with more PT and they are fast and big and athletic.

Freshmen would have to play in worst case. Darden can slide up from linebacker, Dodd and Addison would have to play instead of being redshirted.

Darden is going to be a Stud!! Hope we keep him in the fold. I would play him now!! Maybe we should have the front 4 stand up?!?

looking at the roster, we have a lot of edges on the roster. The numbers are there but can they play? Who knows? I don’t think over the years we have done a great job building depth through game experience.

People have to realize (or maybe not; they'll believe what they want anyway) that these coaches are trying to win NOW. They, and the people that work under them down to office staff, depend on winning NOW because if they don't, people probably like you will be howling for their termination. and won't be considering whether 'depth' was built. To win NOW, we, South Carolina, cannot afford a lot of in-game experimentation. That luxury is simply not available to us at the present time in the present climate.
