Are you on drugs?

Dude was 14th in the SEC in QBR….both this year and last year. Barely ahead of Shapen this year, and actually behind Van Buren in 2024. He sucks.
I hear you, but there’s going to be 1/4 of the Power 5 looking at the 6’5, 225 lbs athlete thinking:

Can't imagine either of them would touch him. I think he winds up in ACC or Big 12. Not a P2 quarterback.

The times I saw him play....I wasn't impressed..

Ya'll watch and see who goes after him.

He's got the talent. He's going to eventually develop. Safe to say that there were problems with Bubba Napier. I mean Lagway single-headedly helped him keep his job another year, with his play at the end of last year.

Not quite so delusional to think that Napier was the problem for him. Maybe delusional to think he's got a real high ceiling that Napier managed to turn into a bottom of the SEC QB. But if you're trying to upgrade to be average, maybe it will work.

You're probably right about the first part. But probably wrong about the second. People will convince themselves they can fix him. But they can't. He is what he is. A bad QB who can occasionally make the spectacular play.

He’s not getting looks from the Bama’s and LSU’s of the world. Not as a starter, anyway.

LSU already has a better QB than him…as a backup.

OM may take a chance if Chambliss bolts for LSU. Or he may get some lower P2 looks from someone like Purdue or Maryland or maybe even Vandy if he’s cheap enough. But that’s his ceiling as far as being able to go somewhere else and start.

Not by choice. He's not built for that much pressure. At least not yet.

Dude is Anthony Richardson 2.0. A ton of natural talent but not much between the ears. Put him in an offense that doesn't ask him to read too much and he'll thrive, but good defenses will make him look pedestrian.

If there's one thing that's true, the majority of fans simply can not or will not look past just the current year, or how a guy will develop. If you aren't All-American NOW, as a 1st or 2nd year player, you're trash, hit the bricks.

Perhaps he does slide to a Baylor or Texas Tech, but geez. His dad played out there and he's from there. "P2 Quarterback"? What type of a distinction is that? What if he goes to Clemson, does that make him somehow less?

And if you think Van Buren is better than Lagway, oh my holy damn.

Every now and then a guy like him improves. Usually they don't. The list of unemployed 6'4" 235 lb QBs with a rocket arm and can run is a long one. Most good QBs are shorter, less athletic, and little less arm strength, but more accurate passer and much better decision maker. The measurables for a QB aren't really that important. It's all about the intangibles.

That’s not true. Go read my post. He was 14th in the SEC in QBR this year AND last year. He made zero improvement in 2 years. The eye test also shows a player with very questionable football IQ who makes a lot of baffling decisions and throws.

Perhaps he does slide to a Baylor or Texas Tech, but geez. His dad played out there and he's from there. "P2 Quarterback"? What type of a distinction is that?
It’s a distinction that he’s downgrading from where he currently is, which is at a middle of the pack school in the SEC / B1G. Meaning there are only about 5-10 schools out there that would actually be an upgrade, and they’ll likely already be set or looking elsewhere.

What if he goes to Clemson, does that make him somehow less?
Uh, yes. At least makes his anticipated level of success much less. Clemson’s no longer the Clemson of 5 years ago.

And if you think Van Buren is better than Lagway, oh my holy damn.
Stats say he was better. Higher QBR as a true freshmen in 2024, with practically zero supporting cast on the OL or anywhere else.

Raw talent? Who knows. But his actual production at the same point in time was markedly better.

I don't think he's got the mental toughness to compete. No fight in him.

He got paid, he's good. He'll get paid again & then flame out but he'll have made a few million.
