I know that LT turned the ball over five times, twice in the red zone.

Did not sound like they played well.

They are 2AA which is equivalent to VA's 3a. Very well coached team with some speed and athletes. This is one of the reasons we scheduled this game as their coach said this years team was better than the team they had last year that went 14-1 and lost in the state semifinals. We blocked their first punt and returned for TD. Held them scored on our first play to go up 14-0 and it was a penalty fest after that. Every time we stopped them on 3rd and 4th down there was a penalty that lead to 20 of their 27 points as penalties kept drives alive. Our offense had 7 fumbles and lost 5 as we played horrible at times as the bye week made us look more rusty than polished. A lot guys cramped up and the penalty numbers were 20-5. Before we left the school we had a video request already on Hudl from the officials association from NC. Honestly our kids fought through the turnovers and penalties and we outscored them 13-0 in the 4th quarter with Wayne Davis catching the TD with 22 seconds left as we got the ball on our 45 with around a min to go. Oh well our first home game is this week against Norview who's only loss is to Highland Springs.

To me it is lol it was a joke but the schools that NEHS play are definitely country “ Not saying country teams can't play football” all I was saying I didn't expect some school from North Carolina north eastern side to compete with one of VA top 5 team.

They really aren't just some school. Elizabeth City actually has some good players and the best players go to Northeastern and not the county school. Add in 7 fumbles with 5 lost 20 penalties and you have a ballgame. It is what it is how about your Landstown boys losing to some bum squads in the beach? Landstown has done nothing but consistently underachieve with probably the 2nd or 3rd most talent in the beach. SMH

Champions overcome adversity. LT buckled down and got the job done. Contests like this build character and this win built a ton of character, I think it makes LT even tougher this season in the long run. Athletically they are amazing already, the mental part of the game got a big boost. Big win.

Get those TO's under control!!! Can't putting the rock on the ground that many times!

Think about it like this...We have played in three different places that aren't used to officiating our team and this was done on purpose. Peninsula has it's own set of officials, Charlottesville, and NC.

Things that we are used to doing some people see as a penalty. If we are running with a WR and any of our DB's put a hand on their hip on anything while they are running is not a flag in Tidewater, but a flag in Charlottesville and NC.

Makes sense. You bring up a good point about officiating. The Charlottesville area refs are so different week to week with officiating. I imagine across the state and out of state officiating is much much different.

Landstown has pretty much lost all the starters to injury can't tell you much what's going on out there I've always said time for a coaching change seems everyone beach gonna challenge each other not really clear #2 team Bayside doesn't even look good should have lost to kellam looks like another Ocean Lakes squad kill everyone 21+ points.

Not related to this post but just wanted to know how Quinerly (sp) was doing at ECU? Hell of an athlete and I have some family ties to ECU. That coach at ECU does a great job with receivers.

I am a little late to the thread but, Lake Taylor had 9 penalties for 87 yards to 3 for 30 yards on Northeastern, Lake Taylor had 5 fumbles with 4 being lost. I am not sure why you need to exaggerate the facts. Lake Taylor is a solid team but very overrated in my opinion, proof is dropping 31 spots to 55 in the rankings. Good Luck to both teams for the continuing season.

I am not mad at LT, If you read my other posts you would see that, we got stats from different sources and I can admit when there is a discrepancy. I like the Kanye gif, very nice touch. Since you are an authority on LT, I still am wondering when the last time they rushed for less than 100 yards?

Happens all the time actually. This is not your grandfathers LT that will run the ball every down. If the defense is playing 8-9 in the box like Northeastern was then we will pass the ball, Hence the 21 attempts. Those rushing yards include sacks and yards lost on fumbles so with a couple of sacks and 7 fumbles yards go down. We got the W and that's all that counts we could have had 3 yards for all I care. Is there some sort of moral victory associated with holding us under 100 yards rushing? GL to whoever you root for the rest of the way and being ranked 24 or 55 out of over 40,000 high schools in the United States ain't too bad.

It's not a moral victory, a loss is a loss, but being able to play a really good team is always a plus. Nobody and I mean nobody gave Northeastern a chance, Va or NC, looking forward to next year and playing in VA. Good Luck to LT and hope they go all the way again, definitely a solid team in all three facets of the game Offense, Defense, and Special Teams.
