Lz made a conscious decision to make Miller try and beat them solely throwing it - challenging him to throw deep. North tried to run the ball but couldn’t. Just 50 yards on the ground.

Every pass Miller threw over 20 yards was either incomplete or picked.

PN is a good team but not as good as LZ.

Was a little surprised they chose to go for it at midfield on their first possession. Not sure you want to give the ball to the other team at midfield on their first possession.

PN defense has allowed over 20 points only twice in the past 24 games (past 2 seasons), ESL in the title game and Minooka this year. And you think LZ wins by at least 21? Get real.

PN was moving the ball well on the first possession with short possession passes (as I expected), then on 4th and 3 on the 50 the PN coach made a bad decision and went for it, running outside of all things, and of course sanborn stuffed the play and gave LZ a short field and a ton of momentum.

PN tried to run outside a lot in the first half and that went nowhere.

Wait - did I read that correctly? The PN speed didn’t make the edge?

Maybe the defense read and react times neutralized any perceived speed differences?

PN has about 8 players faster than any starter on LZ's football team. That opinion has been formed from watching both play numerous times.

LZ's track team is one of the slowest in the entire state outside of 1A schools and PN has one of the best track programs in the state and their top returning sprinter who is prominently featured in their offense is 2 full seconds faster than LZ's top returning sprinter in the 100. Think about that for a second.

Big diff between flat-out gloating and harmless ribbing, seems vfl can take it as well as dishing it, I'm pretty sure s/he's having a good chuckle.

Don't really see a basis for gloating based on a comment that LZ may have trouble with PN's speed. They didn't. LZ had better team speed than I thought. They did a good job handling PN's speed.

The main argument of this thread was not about who was going to win, so I don't see how LZ winning (which I said would probably happen) proves anyone right that speed doesn't matter in football or that track is an invalid reference point for football speed.

I think PN making speed a priority in their program has brought them plenty of success for such a young school. That is what made me a fan, as I am a fan of speed as you can obviously tell from this thread.

The LZ fan club has every right to believe that speed is not important. I have every right to say that you are wrong. Nothing that has happened has proven them to be correct that speed doesn't matter in football.

I wasn't involved in the team speed discussion. I was laughed at by a PN fan when I said LZ by 21. I really want to hear @SWsuburbs4 thoughts on the game.
