Would surprise me, that's a lot for a freshman to be playing CB (which has hasn't really played before), working on special teams, and also playing offense. I'd say the place you're most likely to see him is on KR.
Looking at his tape he is amazing in space. More and more players like JuJu Smith-Schuster at USC and Jabrill Peppers at Michigan are playing both ways. Just seems like with all the hype around Jackson he could be a factor with the ball in his hands.
Maybe, but we've got a lot of weapons on offense. Unless he is noticeably more effective than the other guy, I wouldn't put that on him.
I had no idea he played QB too.. would be interesting to see him run the option.. haha, yeah I know.. not happening, but still

When you look back at the history of Nebraska football, a lot of dynamic players could've been elite options on offense.
Grant Wistrom would've been an amazing tight end. Ndamakong Suh could've been a devastating Offensive Tackle. Mike Brown would've been a tremendous Tailback. Ralph Brown could've caught 10 TD passes in a season at wideout. Barret Ruud could've ran the option at Nebraska and looked like Scott Frost. Prince Amukamara is arguably the greatest high school running back in Arizona HS football history.
But what do all those dudes all have in common aside from being elite athletes? They all helped Nebraska play devastating defense. We all get enamored with big offensive plays. And we all want to romanticize big time running backs, Wideouts, and QBs. But Nebraska will never officially be Nebraska again until they play elite defense on a consistent basis.
You do that by taking kids like Lamar ,Dedrick Young, or JoJo Domann, and trotting them out on the defensive side of the football.
Now if a kid like Lamar can be used in the return game, you use him there. But that type of athlete playing defense raises your level of competency. I will take my chances with recruits like Derrion Grimm or Spielman or Tre Bryant playing offense and keeping Lamar on defense instead of Lamar on offense and an athlete like PJ Smith, Alonzo Whaley or Thad Randle on defense.
Ultimately, I believe Nebraska can roll over out of bed and recruit talented skill players. But if Nebraska ever wants to compete for a National Title again, they need high level talent all over their defense.

Great post and couldn't agree more. Defense wins championships. Banderas was quoted the other day saying he thought Jackson was a Defensive End when he first saw him, per Brian Christopherson.
A lot is always made about how in the glory days NU would demoralize teams by methodically grinding up and down the field. Just as demoralizing, maybe more was the fact some pretty high-powered offenses went nowhere against our D. I'm thinking of games like against the Gators where the Blackshirts turned their offense into no fun, no gun.
What we need is some farm boys! Jk. No kids farm anymore, their to busy chasing pokemans...
