Anybody with any sense could see our bigger lineup was better than Butler. Lamont chooses to play the small guys and we watched Butler jump over our backs and grab rebound after rebound and beat the snot out of us in the lane. He would put in the big guys And that stopped immediately and we would come back. How could he not see it and allow us to get far behind.

You still have to score! Love the kid, but Stute is useless Offensively!

I actually really like this group of guys. Need a legit big man.
Too many second chances for sure today. I'm thinking it's something that can be fixed to a certain degree w/o legit big man. I do think big men we have can be worked with. Hitting 3's will be what determines how the season works this year. This team is definitely more capable than last year's.

I think we need to get the ball in Mongolian Mike's hands more. He is a mismatch we need to take advantage of more. Ellis is still learning the college game but he is a good facilitator. Essandoko is a disappointment and Stute has gotten worse every year.

To me, our best lineup is:

Mike
Kobe
Meechie
Jordan
Elijah

Eli first off the bench with Grant and Nordin, and Myles last. I would not let Essandoko on the court until he loses more weight. Dude moves like his feet are in mud.

Doesn’t seem like live by the 3 die by the 3 approach has amounted to much. Winning on the boards will always be necessary.

Agree, he was obviously trying to force something that wasn't working. Coach has to recognize this unless he was trying to make a point to the team that would benefit them down the road. I still think he could have made the point while still trying to win the game with the bigger lineup.

Coach Paris win % is less than Beamers and I don't see us having a winning record again this year. Hope he can get it fixed but I'm not convinced.

I disagree. I think we have talent to play certain ways. Today was a physical game with older more mature and stronger players. When your 6‘5 guys are getting beat off the dribble, can’t get a rebound, and basically getting backed down to the basket, it’s time to go bigger.
Butler and the big French dude make a difference. We couldn’t get a rebound until they came in. It was easy to see in the first half. Lamont decided to play the lineup giving up double digit leads way too
long.

We have to play bigger bodies in SEC play. Our big guys are talented this year.

U r wrong about Essandoko. He can be really good and we need his size and rebounds. We were better every minute he was in today. Even with an injured hand.

I'm not following, please explain.
I may be wrong, but board mantra is…

-‘He’ (fill in the blank) sucks.
-Beamer has made it known that he ‘wants to be here’, and that’s funny to the board squad.
-Therefore the squad makes funnies about whether (fill in the blank) ‘wants to be here’, proposing that as an unenlightened fan’s primary criterion for supporting the (fill in the blank) program.
-This is known among the squad as ‘discussing gamecock sports’.

But again…

Didn't know he was injured. But he's still too slow for the kind of game we play.
I think that’s the problem, Lamont does not alter anything. I say put the big guy down in the lane for rebounds and shot altering drives. There’s not a lot of seven footers or centers that he would be guarding that they’re going to consistently nail three-pointers to cause him to have to leave the lane. This is just my opinion from watching basketball for an eternity and playing it some.

Don’t forget the “he’s crazy for thinking we will be much better next season.”

I always find it much more soothing to have a head coach who says we’re going to suck next year.

I didn’t watch the game, but posted after the last game that who we settle in on the forward spot will be the key. Based on the rebounding, we had a bad game. It’s early, but Paris needs to play the athletic forwards who can defend and rebound and count on the guards for scoring. Based on the stats, we just got out muscled in this game.

To some around here, a coach that "wants to be here" is automatically a good coach and "wanting to be here" is the primary factor in whether or not a coach should be retained.
Referring to Beamer, of course.
