At a pre-opening event. Their liquor license is still a couple of weeks away but they will be serving beer and seltzers tonight. I have to say this is going to be a great addition to Starkvegas.
Same amount as Two Brothers, Starkville Cafe, Bin 612, etcAny parking?
Unfortunately we could not walk back to fraternity row from The Landing in the late 80's. It was always a roll of the dice where the roadblock would be located. These kids will never understand the trauma. The Landing, where one could order bags of beers, on ice, to go. The good ol days.
Even into the 90's, you were playing with fire if you went back to Starkville on Old West Point Rd or Hwy 82. We'd always go south on 45 past 82 and turn right onto Curtis Chapel Road Make a hard left turn on that gravel road, jump the two bridges and then turn right on Blackjack and you were home free at that point.Unfortunately we could not walk back to fraternity row from The Landing in the late 80's. Current generations just don’t understand the pure joy of a sunny afternoon, a car with T Tops, a couple of eight packs of pony’s, and county road with plenty of road signs. It brings a tear to my eyes just remembering how good of a 40 mph left hook that I had.

Yeah, the cotton district was starting to become a pretty cool place when I was there from 2004-2008 but it is really an awesome area now. Hopefully it just keeps getting better. I love the growth without losing the overall feel of the area. That’s awesome. I’m excited about it. It’s in a great location.
I’m pretty proud of the Cotton District in general.

My brother was an ace from the driver's seat too. Oldheads, educate this youngsterIs “the landing” an original singular concept for Starkville or are there several others? Never heard of it
Left handed pony from the driver side to the speed limit sign was an act of dexterity that should’ve garnered a spot on the team.Current generations just don’t understand the pure joy of a sunny afternoon, a car with T Tops, a couple of eight packs of pony’s, and county road with plenty of road signs. Officers used to walk the drive thru late at night doing sobriety tests.Even into the 90's, you were playing with fire if you went back to Starkville on Old West Point Rd or Hwy 82. Becoming proficient at hitting the little black and yellow signs at bridges was one of the proudest days of my life.Left handed pony from the driver side to the speed limit sign was an act of dexterity that should’ve garnered a spot on the team.
The original 'The Landing' was a dive-bar on Hwy 45 approximately across from where The Pony is now. Nickel beer, pinball, arcade games, and about a baker's dozen pool tables. It burned to the ground in the 90's I think. It was a regular watering hole when I was at State in the late 80's.Is “the landing” an original singular concept for Starkville or are there several others? Never heard of it
Saw Will Clark there one night pool. For as good as he was in baseball, he was one hell'uva pool player. He wasn't betting for money. Nope, he was betting for beer. The original 'The Landing' was a dive-bar on Hwy 45 approximately across from where The Pony is now.
