I finished it last week.

Man, anything to do with the daughter or wife was insufferable. I found myself fast forwarding all of the kids and mom part on the final episode or two just to get that **** over with. Loved everything to do with BBT and Hamm.

Agree. You know its God awful content if i want to avoid watching two beautiful women.

The daughter is such a useless character. Slows the momentum of the show every time she appears. The mom sucks too. It does not advance the story at all and I really don’t need the overly sexualized **** especially for a character that’s supposed to be 17 (the actress is 27).

The son developing a relationship with this girl of the dead coworker within like 10 minutes is kind of ridiculous as is him being a genius and knowing everything about starting his own oil company after about two weeks of work and a college degree.

I was really hoping Hamm’s character didn’t die. I really liked that aspect of the show/ loved all of the oil and business side of the show.

Speaking of Landmand, I'm reading today it's the hottest tee time in golf. Not that I know anything.

I’m hoping there will be lots of backstory coming with Hamm (and Demi) next season.

The latest, in a seemingly endless string of Taylor Sheridan TV shows.

I quit watching Yellowstone after the 3rd season. Not that I hated, but I just kind of lost interest.

I've watched the first 4 episodes of Landman. Billy Bob is doing "Billy Bob", Don Draper quit the ad game and bought an oil company, and all women in Texas are developmentally stunted, ie. emotional middle schoolers.

Like Yellowstone though, it's entertaining to a point, but just like the food at Fazoli's, it's all the same thing, it's just a different shape.
Started it on a plane to Europe. Have not been able to get through the whole season. There have been some entertaining moments, but a lot of it is just goofy. Billy Bob really does sell his character, however. Really impressive acting on his behalf.
The lawyer lusting after the minor daughter of his friend/boss is extremely uncomfortable for me.

As is the blatant product placement of Michelob Ultra, and the not subtle intimation that it can cure alcoholism. That seems well, irresponsible. LOL (maybe the point is to demonstrate that absudity and I just don't get it)
They do compare Ultra to water, I believe. That seems right to me.

This is one of the most difficult series to actually get through. There is more campy crap in the show that sucks than there is worthwhile substance.

Landman is the best of the Sheridan shows IMO. Who cares if the mom and daughter are idiots. They are smoking hot. Ali Larter is hotter today at 49 than she was at 25. The daughter’s interview at TCU was hilarious. Plus adding Sam Elliot was a great move. He makes anything better. Kinda weird him playing Thorton’s dad though. I’ve always seen them as about the same age.

I loved the dinner scene. Hilarious. At first I thought Larter was nude when she ran out to hug Carter.

Completely agree about Larter. She is much more attractive than she was when she was younger. I like her character. Crazy trophy wife men wish they had until they live with her for awhile. Demi is smoking for a 63 year old woman. Hate seeing Sam Elliott getting old. One of my all time favorite actors. There is not another actor who could play Tommy as well as Billy Bob. In typical fashion, Sheridan will stray at times when it's not really needed but overall I think this is his best show.

Sam would have had to fathered BB at 11years old. I’m going to call this one plausible.

I liked 1923 a little better myself, but it's over with. I really like landman as well but to me the newest episode was a little slow. I'm sure it will cut loose in the next few episodes
I loved 1887 but I don’t think 1923 is as good. Wish 1887 would have had multiple seasons and 1923 be the one off. Paramount wanted more seasons of 1887 but Sheridan didn’t know that and wrote it as as one season deal.

Wasn't 1923 the one where the Dutton's started out? Harrison Ford and Helen Miran. 1887 was with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, not a fan of either of them.. Supposed to be a sequel of Yellowstone in the making. I look forwards to seeing that. Sheridan has so many things going on, I don't see how he keeps up with it.

Loved the first 3 seasons of Yellowstone, the rest stunk. 1887 was very good, just needed to be longer. 1923 was ok. Just seemed a little out of place and awkward. We will see about any more that are put out.

I always knew Sam was a stud, but he surpassed all of my expectations.

  • Sam Elliott was born August 9, 1944 — he is 81 years old.
  • Billy Bob Thornton was born August 4, 1955 — he is 70 years old.

Watched S2 #3 last night. Billy Bob was having lots of trouble staying on the road while driving but he ended up with a big grin. That's all.

Is it possible that two women run me off this show?
I find myself cringing in disgust every scene they are in.

I feel better knowing she's 28 years old in real life.

Watching the first episode of season 2. The Ali Larter story line with the daughter is just some of the dumbest television I have seen. I am about half way through the episode but if the rest of it does not pick up, this show ends here for me.

The first episode of season 2 was truly garbage and disrespected the viewer (a huge step down from a not-so-great season 1). It was old lines and scenes on repeat. Other than introducing Sam Elliott, one freaking scene, there was absolutely no value. All of the characters are one-dimensional stock characters. Where Thornton’s character had a modicum of depth in season one, even he was reduced to redundancy in this episode. The son, wife, daughter, Demi Moore, the lawyer, the hand (Moore and the son seem like they were tranquilized while Ali and the daughter seem like they were given massive amounts of caffeine for their performances), - all just on repeat with nothing to offer. Dull. Stupid dialogue, as bad as an afternoon soap opera. The creators must not want to work and seem to desire the show to fail in season two.

Billy Bob's character, Tommy Norris, reminds me of my father who passed away in 1986 from cancer. Same small, wiry frame. Similar accent. Multitasking with all the resident crazies. Same shirts. Almost surreal.
