What I read was that we crossed the 25,000 mark and have the largest overall enrollment since 1982. It is also the largest number of "first time students" in 35 years.

The article I read was from the Lincoln Journal. I can't link to it right now, but should be easy to find

That's great news for my alma mater! Gotta wonder if it being a B1G school is making a difference or if it's something else.

The article mentioned that there was a tuition freeze and that helped. But it also said being in the B1G has helped, yes.
Largest enrollment ever, surpassing 1982 high. 3rd largest freshmen class

I saw an article last week on Missouri's enrollment and how it is down 25%. I wonder how much their enrollment being down has impacted other universities in the region.

All it means is that the drop-out rate is going to go UP. High school guidance counselors are sure they are doing a great job by getting more kids to 4-year-schools. They are wrong and it should be the complete opposite.

When I saw the thread title, I was half expecting commentary on the obesity epidemic.

Damn. My bad. Apologies to everyone. The article I read was actually from last year. Someone sent it to me thinking it was this year and I just accepted that. Went to link it to here and noticed the date on the article. Sorry...
