If we can't go to Florida then this is great. First time playing Iowa in my living memory.

I live in Nashville and don't want to go to this. Rather be in Jacksonville. Think most UK have a lot of Nashville overload, SEC Tourney and MCB. Just don't think UK will bring a big crowd ala Clemson, FSU etc.. Hope I am wrong.

The people who can drive than I am all for it, MTN Cat with some health issues, I hope for him that it is easy drive so either way I am good.

on his radio show that He's hearing its Kentucky Iowa in the music city bowl. Said sources close to the music city bowl reps are loving this matchup.
That's assuming another bowl doesn't have us #1 on their list as well. In that event, the SEC will be involved.

Jerry Palm also has the Iowa-UK Music Bowl matchup in his CBSsports projections.

They got 2 stud rbs but their pass offense is average. Their defense is stout only giving up 135 yards through the air last I looked.

Iowa vs. UK would be a nice matchup. May be difficult for UK to win given Iowa's running game, but it would still be entertaining.

Honestly, I'm not too worried about who our opponent is. The fact that we managed to salvage what looked to be a disastrous season makes me content with whatever bowl/opponent we get.

If it's Nashville I'm probably coming with a group of 10.

Iowa is a solid team well coached. Your over exaggerating there run game. They average 172 rypg not exactly scary good. They only throw for 171. This is actually a good match up on paper for UK. We dont have to deal with much qb run.

For some reason I thought they were a little more prolific on the ground, obviously I was wrong. Thanks for the correction.

I think since Stoops has taken over the D running QBs don't give us the problems they used too. He was known for his ability to make adjustments and adapt as a D.C. The same thing won't give him the same problems more than once or twice lol. I still would rather us line up against a team that allows us to focus on one set of reads on the front 7 though but seeing how we kinda contained ULs and MSU running QBs they don't scare me nearly what they used too lol.

Iowa will be tough. They've beaten Michigan and spanked Nebraska. Rather face them though than GT.

Ihave seen some projections for the "Belk Bowl". I would prefer Music City.. but not against going to Jacksonville.

Sounds like a pretty tough game, looks like we will have to have our running game AND our newfound passing game to win.

Do not understand Iowa being in the MCB, they beat Michigan and Nebraska, and should be Outback bowl bound. Minnesota is the team most likely to be UK's opponent should it come down to that bowl.
I would enjoy that MCB match up, but would prefer the Belk Bowl, since we have not appeared in that Bowl, compared to 4 appearances in the MCB.

it will be hard to know how Big10 shakes out bowl wise- they could get 1-3 teams in the CFP. until that's picked, who knows??

i'd put $100 on Iowa as our opponent as mentioned above. Coach Stoops being a player there seals the deal for me. His first bowl game will be against his alma mater.

I'm good with playing the Hawkeyes as long as they don't have a dual threat running QB.[winking]

I'd be good with Iowa. Classy fans and the added component of it being coach's alma mater.

Most of the hotels in downtown Nashville are booked already. If UK doesn't go, there will be a bunch of cancelations.

I hope Larry is correct. The only bowl game my wife and I could make would be the MCB. I got reservations at the Marriott Renaissance for 3 nights including New Years Eve,figured if UK does get to bowling in Nashville might as well stay and celebrate New Years there. Got fingers crossed MCB does get UK.

I'd rather play Miami Fl in the Belk Bowl if I had my choice.
Considering that the Music CIty Bowl has a pay-out of $2,750,000 compared to the Belk Bowl's $1,700,000 I would rather go to Nashville. Plus, when you consider that Nashville is within four hours driving time of 75% of Kentucky's population you got to think that that make's KY more attractive to the MCB selection committee.
