pitching matchup: Fristoe vs McNairy

McNairy (RHP) is making his first career start. He’s thrown in 5 SEC games this season: 11.2 ip, 7.71 era.

This is probably a must-win for Bama to get an at-large bid. Be good to see us put down their best shot.

We should be licking our chops right about now. But we have at times had a tendency to make some pitchers look much better than they are. Hope today is not one of those days.

I feel like we will see lots of runs today from both teams

Hope it goes better than it has started.

Good pitch to strike out Clark. I have been really impressed with this kid. His swing reminds me of someone else but I can't put my finger on it.

4 pitch walk.......Time to pull Fristoe. He does not look comfortable.

Hopefully Fristoe improves before next year...It doesn’t matter how good your stuff is if you can’t throw a strike

Fristoe must really improve before next year or we are in trouble. In reality, several of our pitchers have digressed over the course of the season and he is definitely one.

Tournaments (and championships) are generally won with pitching, and it's concerning that we don't have a solid Game 3 starter.

We are making this guy on their mound look like a Cy Young winner while they run around the bases on us so far.

Is it too late to sub Bruce in the lineup.

So we’re 4-5 on game 3 in SEC and 15-5 on first 2 games. Wow. Says a lot about our lack of a game 3 starter. Others also have this problem but they have the ability to out hit the teams on Sunday. We don’t.

Don't you just love when an outfielder sells the diving catch just a little too much

If Bama is going to make plays like the CF just did, we are probably not winning this game.

It's one of those days.

Bama look like all-stars in the field, while we can't get our glove on anything.

Only when it is backed up by a super play in the hole DEEP by the SS.

We have some guys who have hit the **** out of the ball only to have these plays happen. That could bring most teams down.

Bama’s defense keeping runs off the board so far. Would have been an easy double by Allen to CF, the next play is a grounder by the 3rd baseman, but SS makes a play deep in the hole.

Hard to score with them flashing that kind of leather.

Come on Clark. That’s a huge break for Bama. I’m not sure they were going to get Legget at 1st.

Just like a batter stepping into a pitch in order to get hit the 3rd baseman reached out to touch the runner

And the umps are made to look like fools

Meh... Clark has to be smarter than that. If he hadn’t thrown his hands up it probably doesn’t get called, but I don’t think it was correct call, that was Shortstop’s play to make.

He got run into by the 3B.

Next base runner for Bama, I’d put cumbest in the infield and have him plow the 17er.

The ball was already 10 feet behind him. It was the short stop’s play. The 3rd baseman initiated the contact

The other part of the bad call and 100% correct

Just makes the umps all look incredibly stupid
