What Nat'l title are they talking about WIscy winning?

I thought they said something like 70 years ago? Then that makes it before our 1942 NIT championship, and before the first NCAA tourney, which I believe was also 1942? So how come Wiscy is recognized as a former title holder but we're not? Just because it's not an NCAA title doesn't mean it's not a national title.

What a bunch of crap that is

Considering the NCAA and the NIT champion never played each other how can they call the NCAA winner the title winner? I don't think the NCAA teams were as good as the NIT teams were until at least the very late 40s or even 1950s.
