…we’d go into the final weekend against Missouri needing a sweep to get to .500.
I now think that was overly optimistic.

Furthermore, I think we're about to find over the next 3-4 weeks that Texas isn't all that great themselves. They looked good this weekend, but not exactly elite…we’d go into the final weekend against Missouri needing a sweep to get to .500.

Glad to see someone admit they were wrong.…we’d go into the final weekend against Missouri needing a sweep to get to .500.

Said the same thing this afternoon… they don’t look like the 27 Yankees..Furthermore, I think we're about to find over the next 3-4 weeks that Texas isn't all that great themselves. They looked good this weekend, but not exactly elite
Well....they are a lot youngerSaid the same thing this afternoon… they don’t look like the 27 Yankees..
Yeah I wasn’t super impressed. The stud freshman didn’t sure didn’t miss many barrels.Furthermore, I think we're about to find over the next 3-4 weeks that Texas isn't all that great themselves. They looked good this weekend, but not exactly elite
My completely uneducated prediction is 13-17 in conference. That has us going 13-14 from here on out though, so that's probably over optimistic. We desperately need to win 3 of the next 6. At #2 and #10, combined record of 37-3. Shouldn't be a problem**.
Right now, I don't know that there's any series we're a solid favorite to win other than Missouri. It could get ugly. And with this year's conference schedule, 13-17 would be a huge disappointmentRight now, I don't know that there's any series we're a solid favorite to win other than Missouri. It could get ugly. But I think 13-17 is a pretty good guess.
Certainly not betting the farm or anything, but what would make anybody think we are likely to pull more than one from Oklahoma? Granted, I dont' know anything about them other than their ranking, but I would assume getting sweeped is more likely than us taking 2.And with this year's conference schedule, 13-17 would be a huge disappointment
On T&L today, Hadad asked a question about what would happen if State came away from Oklahoma with just 1 win, and man... talk about danger zone with a trip to LSU on the horizon
Yeah, I can’t argue with that right now. I think Brian’s point may not have been as much about the idea that we should win the series, but if we don’t, it stands to reason that we’ll be staring 2-7 or even 1-8 in the face after our first three weekends. For a season where we were supposed to have a manageable conference schedule, that is one rough start, and we can just about kiss hosting goodbye at that pointCertainly not betting the farm or anything, but what would make anybody think we are likely to pull more than one from Oklahoma? I think Texas is middle of the SEC, which means we are a lot worse than I expected.I don’t think Texas is elite right now but I do think Schloss is a great coach and will have them end up with a good record
I share that fear. I really didn’t see anything from Texas last weekend that made me think that either their pitching staff or lineup is top tier. By the end of the year, I think we’ll find that they’re just a good, Top 25 caliber team. Nothing moreI think Texas is middle of the SEC, which means we are a lot worse than I expected.
We should have crushed their pitcher for game 2, I think he will lose a lot of games for them.I share that fear.
