Furthermore, I think we're about to find over the next 3-4 weeks that Texas isn't all that great themselves. They looked good this weekend, but not exactly elite

My completely uneducated prediction is 13-17 in conference. That has us going 13-14 from here on out though, so that's probably over optimistic.
I don’t think Texas is elite right now but I do think Schloss is a great coach and will have them end up with a good record
Right now, I don't know that there's any series we're a solid favorite to win other than Missouri. It could get ugly. But I think 13-17 is a pretty good guess.

On T&L today, Hadad asked a question about what would happen if State came away from Oklahoma with just 1 win, and man... talk about danger zone with a trip to LSU on the horizon
Certainly not betting the farm or anything, but what would make anybody think we are likely to pull more than one from Oklahoma? Granted, I dont' know anything about them other than their ranking, but I would assume getting sweeped is more likely than us taking 2.
Yeah, I can’t argue with that right now. I think Brian’s point may not have been as much about the idea that we should win the series, but if we don’t, it stands to reason that we’ll be staring 2-7 or even 1-8 in the face after our first three weekends. For a season where we were supposed to have a manageable conference schedule, that is one rough start, and we can just about kiss hosting goodbye at that point
I think Texas is middle of the SEC, which means we are a lot worse than I expected.
I share that fear. I really didn’t see anything from Texas last weekend that made me think that either their pitching staff or lineup is top tier. By the end of the year, I think we’ll find that they’re just a good, Top 25 caliber team. Nothing more
We should have crushed their pitcher for game 2, I think he will lose a lot of games for them.
