Last years team would have won going away tonight.

There was a time at home when we started games like this and the RAC was rocking, the team put their foot on the other teams neck, and before you know it we were up by 22…blow out.

This year? Down 3 at the half. Sloppy, Airballs, No bench, no “go to” players stepping up and putting an end to a drought. Leaders lead by their play not their cheering (Paul).

Tale of two seasons. Hope sneak in somehow.

Last year, Pike wouldn't have taken out Geo, Ron and Cliff up 13-3 and instead expand that lead to 20-6 and then and only then, give one maybe two a breather. Pike IMO, really effed up tonight. What is it with him? Is he too loyal to our bench kids? Too blind to see they're not very good or soft? Tonight's bad coaching really changed the dynamics of the game and we never recovered.

I disagree - last years team didn’t do what you describe. Last years teams didn’t bury the cupcakes (the let them hang around and LOST to a few!!!). Last year team got a number of huge wins but they didn’t bury Big10 opponents

The team that did it what you describe wasn’t last years team but THIS YEARS TEAM….of a few months ago.

This years team crushed all the cupcakes and blew out a number of Big10 teams.

So I think the team your thinking about is THIS YEARS TEAM from a few months ago

Which, btw, makes it sooooo much more frustrating

I guess I’m pointing out a few games last year. In general you’re right on those early season games, but those loses were close most of the game if I remember

Yup, I was on the edge of the seat for the entirely of that nerve-wracking 86-51 loss to Illinois.

The lack of depth and ability to score one on one is killing us

If you don't have plus one on one players, you need ball movement, player movement, more set plays

Our offense has become a robotic, pattern offense that is incredibly easy to scout and defend. This may be due to the fact that we don't have single offensive player that strikes fear in the heart's of our opponents. We do not have much offensive basketball talent on this team.
I was hoping at the beginning of the year that it would be Simpson but that hasn't played out at all.

This is crazy when you think about how we basically blew out every cupcake by 35 and also blew out B1G teams like Indiana, Maryland, Penn State, Minnesota. Where the heck did that offense go, it wasn’t just Mag

We missed 11 free throws. Make 6-7 of those and it’s a very different game.

To be fair, we blew out Indiana, Maryland, and Penn State with defense, not offense. And Minnesota at home was another cupcake; they are basically Rider.

Michigan scored 58 points, 13 under their season average .. yet no blowout

This was a dreadful, dreadful offensive performance but not really a trend. In fact the two games before that were above the season average (adjusted for opponent and pace, don't focus on the #58 against Wisconsin).

Unfortunately the season average is real bad for a power conference team but that's not new.

It has to do with match ups , where the game is played , when the game is played and injuries to players.Iowa and Michigan are always bad matchups for Rutgers.
