Leach's offense

[DAWG61]

in 2019 WSU was #1 in the country in passing yards per game at 437 ypg. The 2nd highest was LSU at 402 ypg. That's a ridiculous gap between 1-2 at 35 ypg. Keep in mind that's nat champ LSU with arguably the greatest passing season by a Qb in the last 20 years with Burrow. Leach's offense threw it for more than 35 yards than Burrow. The #3 highest team was Alabama with 342 ypg. The gap between Leach and Bama is almost 100 yards!! That's 17ing grand canyon massive and that's Bama with 1st round draft pick and one of the greatest college qbs ever Tua throwing for over 80% of that. Almost 100 yards less than Leach's passing. It'd be tough to find any other year in CFB history that the #1 passing offense threw it for almost 100 yards more than the #3 passing offense.

Was defense even metioned?

Most of us would like to know.

If you could combine that with a top 5 defense we might have a magical season. It should be noted they were #11 in total offense tho

Defense ranked 93 out of 130. Pf 431 PA 401. Probably why they threw so much. Although offense was good hard to compare since defense wasn’t very good.

I think the total yards (rushing and passing) would be more interesting to view.
Also the yards per play and total number of offensive touchdowns.
If looking at those totals, I'm pretty sure WSU would have been a little further down the list.

2018 defense was ranked #42, WSU went 11-2. I think he will have adequate defense-better than hes ever had at MSU. His offenses will continue to be very good.
