It didn’t take a month; it took a little over one week. Jones wanted to interview him on January 10th.
A week delay simply isn’t a big deal.
Classes started on Jan 9th so I doubt he was here much before then. This just seems like Jones is trying to make a mountain out of molehill at least with this particular situation.
He committed to UK & UK announced his transfer December 20th. A month ago.
How many other media outlets asked to interview him but were denied, and didn't say anything like KSR?

But if you want to make unfounded assumptions about a situation to justify complaining about something minor, knock yourself out.

As another poster pointed out it was a week delay. I doubt anyone in the target market didn't know who he was before last week. His brand building was not effected.
The only person effected was Jones who lost out on pregame ratings and restaurant foot traffic during a down time in basketball. Thus the hissy fit
UK fans will tune in for other interviews with Leary. It’s not as if that exhausted the intro. I listened to KSR briefly on Wednesday for the first time in a long time and Matt mentioned JMI in the short time I listened. Seems to be a target for him, no doubt.

I kinda think they maybe responsible for bringing us to where we are. Do you remember where we were before they jumped in? I do. I’m not a complete fan but I remember the days when no one else wanted us much. Basketball brought us in, hopefully football brings us out.
JMI would have received nothing for that interview specifically.
This is part of a broader rights agreement that established WLEX as the official TV partner of UK Athletics and the UK Sports Network.
How dare they give the first interview to the official TV partner who has a show dedicated to promoting UK athletics 5 days a week and BBN Gameday every Saturday promoting the big weekend games during basketball and football season. It’s a travesty.

I have all kinds of things on being a UK fan but I will call out lies and blatant BS whenever I see it. Lies and BS about UK JMI and NIL wear thin too. You pushed a narrative that JMI got paid for an interview, like all the other nonsense that’s 100% BS.
I have nothing against WLEX, and think they do a good job. But with decades of history watching football in WKYT with Ron Bromley, from the 70’s on, it’s still hard to get used to.

Had anyone received money for the interview, I would not have thought the money came from a player, but from the entity that had the “right” for the first interview.
From UKCincy’s posts, it sounds like WLEX has ponied up to be an “official partner” which I assume gives them first bite on interviews.
Yeah, WLEX is UK’s official partner, they have a show dedicated to promoting UK that airs 5 days a week and get preferential treatment as the official television partner.

He does seem like a plant/hit man for “the man.” He is the “company man” in a lot of these discussions.
Mags got very active when this attack Mitch/JMI over NIL narrative sprung up and brings his hammer to every discussion. He does the same with politics. Otherwise, he does not seem to have a lot to offer. I would offer him a Valium.

I suspect JMI has been behind all the anti-Matt Jones posts on this site over the years. Whenever I would make a post critical of Jones, there would be an anonymous direct deposit into my account. JMI has been working this angle for a long while.
Here’s some unsolicited advice, so take this for whatever it’s worth.
It’s possible to have a discussion on the merits of something and to debate the facts of the situation without the vitriol.
In the end, you just end up working against yourself. The people who are adamantly opposed to you only dig in their heels deeper (and you were unlikely to change their mind anyway). Those who are more open minded and might consider your point of view will start to tune you out, and any good facts you might bring to the discussion will be lost in the noise.
Personally, I also don’t it was necessary to go after The Hack like that. The guy has a long track record here of being a good and respectful poster.
