Its pretty simple!! If you know us SMC fans are on a thread breakin red on 1 another and you don't wanna see it, dont click on thread!! Unz seem smart enough to know that!!! Wish unz had someone to fuss with outta your conference!!
I agree and the mods on here should thank me instead of threatening me and releasing personal information which they're not supposed to do. This board has been dying for years and right now I have this 1A board rockin'. These guys just don't like it because I don't agree with their opinion. I'm sure they're sending messages to the mods to tell them to shut me up but I think that's pretty pathetic seeing that all I'm doing is saying that their team is not as good as they think they are which is the truth.

I like people that tell it like it is. I've pissed a few off in my day but if you can't come here and talk North Carolina HS football with people, where can you? People get so defensive over others saying they don't have a good team or commenting on a weakness a team has. That they lack the ability to play defense, or throw the ball, or run the ball, or whatever it is.
Have fun with it. Defend your team respectfully if you disagree. Point out their team's weaknesses. Jab, pick, debate, even criticize. Just don't get personal.

Sorry, but this year has probably been less “rocking” than other years. As for the pathetic part, people will defend their schools. The only thing thing that strikes me as pathetic is your need to have your posts accepted without question due to, as you so often tell us(not show us), your vast football knowledge.

Magnum is on the 3A and 2A board too and just like here he attacks every team. Especially any team that is doing good this year.In other words, he proves every day how big an ******* he is.
Your team MH refused to play my Bears .You're in the weakest conference in N.C .With Mitchell the only good team and you talk about other teams.Several teams in the SMC could beat you.
Next years you will go down when the Bears come to town.
That's funny that you keep bringing up Mountain Heritage like I could care less about them. The only thing I've said about them is they are better team and program than Pisgah is recently and there is nobody that can deny that. Pisgah is a has-been and hasn't done crap since that one year they played Shelby. Every year they talk all this trash like they're so good and then they get in the playoffs and get waxed. Heritage has played for a State title and made it to two Regional finals in the last few years. Pisgah can't even sniff that. Again I don't give a damn about Mountain Heritage but I will say they are a much better program than your team and you cannot argue that. The funny thing is the citizen times has you guys ranked number two in the mountains which is a joke. You've played one good team this year and they beat the crap out of you. I have no idea what they're basing that ranking on but when the playoffs come and you get killed in the second round as usual we will all see the real Pisgah.

Gentry said in the paper that Murphy would have beat pisgah if they had all their players. Mitchell would give pisgah a beat down,like they did Franklin. Pisgah line is soft your coaches need to teach those boys how to block. Wike should be your quarterback, he is the only player on your team with speed. I really think the kid got a raw deal
Smc fans believe if you have cell service where you live and indoor plumbing then your not allowed to speak on the SMC...
Milltown why dont you go talk about your conference not getting a ring AGAIN this year. We dont care what you think. SMC plays for rings ever year. Maybe you should go to the soccer board, yunz might have a chance at that or swimming.
Nobody outside the smc is impressed with little 1A rings. They are way too easy to get. When you have 1-9 teams in the playoffs you know it's trash.
If impressions were candy and nuts....ehhhh actually still doesnt matter Mag still wouldnt have a ring.
That's exactly what it is. It's still really competitive from 1AA up but 1A is just dreadful. They need to figure out a way to fix it.
The cynical answer is "so more people can get trophies and the state can get more money from playoff games."
A less cynical answer is that, at the time it was done, 1A capped out much higher than now (800ish as opposed to 650ish) with a lot of schools that have since been pushed to 2a by smaller charter schools coming on the scene, and you had a unique situation in 1A where schools were sometimes competing with other schools three times bigger than them within the same class (think Andrews and Hendersonville being in the same conference, or Rosman having a great team but finally wearing out after playing Jordan-Mathews, Burlington Cummings, and Maiden three weeks in a row in the playoffs). So 1A was split to address that issue, then people liked the split so they did it with the rest of the classes, too, even though it wasn't all that necessary for 2A and 3A where the difference between the smallest and biggest was maybe 250-300 kids.
As far as why only do this for football, I think the idea is that numbers impact the level of play more in football than in other sports because you need more kids to field a team, there is more injury attrition, etc. Some other states seem to also recognize this by having more classes in football than in other sports. For instance, Tennessee has three classes for basketball and baseball and six in football.
The thing is it one good team in 1A will dominate because of the lack of competition. If Murphy or Mitchell go small it's a cakewalk for them. They need to fix it somehow but I'm not sure how.
I think we have one of the highest 1A caps of any state. Swain (559 last year) would be 2A in Georgia, 3A in Tennessee, 4A in Mississippi, and 5A in Alabama. I always wonder if that hurts NC kids in recruiting...whether a scout would be more interested in a kid from Tennessee who they know plays 3A ball than a kid from NC that they know plays 1A ball, without realizing the schools they play against are a lot of times the same size. Although I guess a lot of recruiting doesn't have much to do with high school ball anymore.
