15 portal additions give or take is their goal. The recruiting class imo was pretty good. Not impressive but as good as I expected. I really hope they get a good haul this time. I guess last year they did good in the portal offensively at least. They need to prioritize one or two positions and soend whatever it takes to get a few true SEC level players

Probably going to need more than that to fill out a 105-man team. I believe it's going from 85 to 105 next season.
I don't understand why people are so down on a #28 recruiting class (according to 247), especially after we were the 65th-best Power Conference team (out of 67).
It's not a bad class. There were some whiffs on defense - so fuel to that fire. It's just harder to be excited about any recruiting class nowadays. In the past this would be the core of future teams and we have their development to look forward to. Now, who knows that class looks like after the spring much less 3 years from now?
If we had gotten some d lineman I think people would ease up. That was our position of biggest need. If they nail the portal I will definitely ease up.
Bingo. How many stay? How many use us to get a bigger payday elsewhere? Its just hard to care knowing what is and what will be.
Damn. Who was 66 and 67? Purdue? Florida State? They must have been unwatchable.
We signed a lot of kids who had no other SEC or major program offers… a lot of kids with North Texas, South Alabama,Memphis etc offers.
Our own coach talked about how we filled out the back end of our roster and scout team. There's really not anything worse you could say about this recruiting class. We signed maybe a half dozen good players (but no great ones). We are getting boat raced by the rest of the SEC, including our neighbors to the northwest.
The defensive line is a gigantic red flag glaring hole. That needs to be fixed
We didn't sign a single DL really and lost our Edge recruit too. We lost our top CB and didn't have much there to start with. OL has issues, need a couple WRs, maybe a RB. Not sure 15 covers all that. I still expect a 2-4 win season next year anyway with us keeping this defensive staff.

Definitely the DL zero signings. Pitiful. Otherwise four 4 stars and no one under 84. About our typical class. One more 4 star in Ferzell Sheppard that might be signing ?? Idk. They all had major offers other than us. Too many jucos tho
I would trade almost our whole class for 3-4 4 star DL. It’s crazy we didn’t help our most glaring need. I’m just not gonna be excited about Kamario or any other offensive player if we can’t generate even the hint of a pass rush.
Just because it's 105 doesn't mean we have to take that many, especially the way money is now. I know we want to fill a full roster but 85 was already too many. I'm pretty sure the men's golf team had to cut three players.
I feel sure they will throw money at a fee DT and a couple DE. If not I will lose all hope. It's an obvious need. Gotta have some run stoppers and pass rushers. Would have made a tremendous difference this year. When you have a safety and a LB leading the SEC in tackles you got some weak a$$ linemen
Purdue is dead last at 67. State and Florida State are competing for 65.
They are about to make some big improvements to the DL group. Hopefully that will solve a few problems
Maybe we have the second coming of fletcher cox in the portal just waiting on our call.
Need to get a young hungry DL coach to fix that. Get some guys out of the portal this year and hire a coach to handle it going forward is the solution.

Pretty sure I read that the SEC limited the scholarship number to 85 for 2025. 20 additional can be added with walk-ons.

Seems to me that opposite would have been better, 24-25 portal players and 14-15 HS/JC signees.
I guess he has some type of assurance from Keenum that he'll get year three no matter and is going the development route?
Colorado only signed 14 on Wed. I think Prime has it figured out. Coaches have to start thinking with an NFL mindset.
Two things can be true.
Our class can be decent but it did miss on serious needs (D-lineman). But missing on serious needs one time doesn't mean they can't recruit. If we were #40 or higher and missed on needs, then yeah, have had it.
I agree with missed on D-lineman. Hopefully he's got 3 or 4 in the portal.
