I think pretty much OK at QB and RB. Upgraded at DE/OLB edge rusher. Downgrade at WR, OL, CB. So yeah, I'm concerned about most position groups. But OL is the one I'm most concerned about.

Positions we're solid at Safety, K, P, RB, and to a lesser degree QB, TE, LB.

We just signed 2 portal OL with multiple P4 offers. This guy is for depth. We have concerns at a lot of places considering we went 2-10 last year, but we are doing well in the spring portal with OL considering the options available.

Loadholt has done a very good job of upgrading the sh*t sandwich Cody Kennedy left him in a very limited amount of time.

The ones we are planning on getting PT in this position are 2 upperclassmen that have a lot of snaps. It’s really not a big deal in that scenario.

We can agree to disagree on this. Mainly due to college football players now have OTAs in the summer along with S&C. This is before we get to fall practices. Add to the fact these kids have been in college programs before getting here. These aren’t some Juco and HS players we are talking about.
Most fans wouid be celebrating these recent additions.. but not the pack. We gotta find every little thing to be negative about…

Yes. These guys know the language of what the coaches are telling them and have 4 months of nothing but football to focus on. Not a big deal. Now whether or not they are talented enough to be good in the SEC? I don’t know. I hope they are. They won’t suck because they don’t know the playbook though.

Actually I think these are fair points. I don't hate the takes.......assuming they are mature enough to do what they need to do come fall. I'm a fan of taking the 'upward' older guys from G5 and in some instances even lower than that. There's obviously talent there, and it's hungry talent.

I think the plan was Cody Kennedy sucks and Lebby realized he had to go in another direction. Pisses me off that it took him so long to make that change though.

I just want to know what type of coach Lebby is. Is he a system/niche guy? Is he more of a fundamental type guy? is he a CEO type who delegates? I have no idea. Niches used to take time to implement, but not so much anymore where you can simply go get the personnel you want. And people keep saying Lebby is a whiz, so seems like he'd want continuity on his offense. Or.....is he just a fundamental type coach who is just running the same offense everybody else is? If that's the case, he will need to upgrade or develop the talent at least to a mediocre level.

he hasn’t been a head coach and struggled to put together a staff. He may not have had many connections and this might not be a job many assistants, coordinators would take. he did not hit the ground running.

2) Do you genuinely believe that those 5 are anything better than the 15th or 16th best line in the conference?

I think the plan is try as many options as you can until you find some that work. Not ideal, but not sure what else we could realistically do.

We are also not done just yet in portal so some of this can change.
To answer your question yes this OL will be better than the 16th OL in the SEC.

He's an on the job training type of head coach. Thats about all we hire in football with Leach being the exception.

Well that's doomed to failure. If you have no idea who you are as a coach, you're not ready to be a leader.

But I do agree that I think Lebby is just in here doing the same stuff that he's seen others do. Which is fine, but it's not going to move the needle for us (us as in MSU). He should have just stayed at Oklahoma and waited on a blue blood job.

For someone who hates on Lebby so much I’m shocked you didn’t know he runs the veer and shoot that he learned while at Baylor. It’s also a deviation of the AR as Briles was Leach RB coach at TT
