Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James spoke his mind after seeing long lines and delays in Georgia as residents attempted to vote in the state's political primary.

James shared a tweet that said predominantly white polling sites in the Atlanta suburbs had shorter lines, but on the other side of town, they “had to bring stadium chairs.”

James shared his opinion about the lines.

"Everyone talking about 'how do we fix this?' They say 'go out and vote?' What about asking if how we vote is also structurally racist?" James wrote.

Republicans always want to suppress the vote.

How is going to the polls & voting suppressing ones ability to vote ? Oh having valid ID & having to stand in line & waiting ones turn ....almost like going to the dmv but 100× more important......

Oh good grief...those lines were in Democrat districts, in a Democrat run county, (Fulton) inside a Democrat run city! ?(Atlanta) What in the world did Republicans have to do with "suppressing" those votes? If anyone is making it difficult to vote, it's the incompetent Democrats running those polling precincts!

Why was inside Metro Atlanta the only place folks had problems voting in the Statewide primary? I voted in Gwinnett and had zero problems. Plenty of Black folks were also voting here with no trouble.

Give me a break.

Hey LeBron...if you played ball the way you tweet you'd be working at McDonald's instead of ballin' out for the Lakers. Please shut up, stop reminding folks you're still only a High School Graduate?

How exactly is a voting line structurally racist?

The state had yet another embarrassing election day. The moron above saying it was only at certain polling places is a complete liar and his comment is yet another lie. There were many issues causing the outcome that is now being reported and is very unfortunate. This is just another example of what this state has been fighting for several years with their elections and the public need to elect individuals in their state and local elections that have a clue and will fix these problems. First place to start is raise taxes in order to fund for more polling places and trained personnel. When you close so many precincts in heavily populated parts of a large city and do not have the personnel to properly train the poll workers, introduce some other challenges that occurred yesterday and this is the result.

This state has elected ****** leaders for over 20 years straight and this is the result. Get smart.

The counties having problems were run by Democrats and the county governments are ultimately to blame for staff not being properly trained ahead of time.
"I'm sorry to say it that way, but we have 159 counties, 150 of them had almost no problem whatsoever, and they all receive the same level of training from the Secretary of State," Sterling said. "We train the trainers, the counties are in charge of training the poll workers.

Georgia attempted to get more people to vote by mail over the past 3 months. I supported that move and participated in the process and for me and many I know, it worked very well. However, there were problems throughout and an investigation is going on to see if individuals are intentionally suppressing the opportunity to vote in that manner. Wouldn't surprise me if they find individuals did in fact break the law and did some bad stuff. Many places in this state and county government are crooked. No doubt about it.

Since there is such a reduction in polling places and have also restricted early voting, the state needs to expand this vote by mail initiative for the election in November or there will be a repeat of yesterday. One can bet on it.

Yes, a political operative made a statement and is not fully true. Cobb, where I live, is one of the counties that had problems and is "not run by Democrats". That statement is very simplistic and the issue isn't simple. But simple people will gobble it up. Consider yourself as one of those.

The Sec of State is over elections. They purchased new machines and didn’t adequately train some areas. Hmm. They also had some machines turned off, not even in use...in some areas. Hmm. A cyber security professor from Ga Tech observed the process.

That's what it looks like.
haha.......a complete scum makes a lying post and you know it and you agree. And you wonder why you are viewed as you are on here.

I'm done with this thread with lying scum like you and that piece of ****. If anyone wants to discuss the election process of Georgia and want to know some facts as I have stated some on the subject, I will be glad to. But keep in mind, what happened yesterday was predicted before Tuesday and the problems came true. It wasn't a surprise.

Yes....everyone knew what would happen......that's what happens when you have ignorant people running polling places. As usual....they take zero responsibility and blame others.
But thank goodness it was only a primary.

Take Democrat/Republican out of this.........is what Lebron said wrong? Long lines at polling places? Does that deter voters? Did Lebron say anything Democrat/Republican?

Since this response is reasonable, I will respond appropriately.

As I said earlier in this thread, there are many issues and it is complex. Politicians are playing the blame game in order to cover their ***. The Sec of State came out at 10am yesterday morning with the first shot of blame. There are some legitimate things that could be resolved such as increasing the polling locations to meet the population needs, purchase more machines, hire more trainers and all those are State issues. The counties (both democrat and republican run counties that had problems) were handcuffed with the pandemic with their training of the poll workers, the machines couldn't come online and people that were trained didn't show up as their recent testing for Covid came back positive. Take all that with an increased number of people showing up at the polls, bad things happened.

I don't know if there was any other funny stuff happening other than the reduced amount of precints which in my viewpoint is a form of voter suppression. But in my view, it is also a budgetary issue. The state and counties do not have the money to increase the amount of polling places with the necessary staff. Is that intentional? I don't think so as the governments are also short in so many other areas but that is only my opinion.

Ok. But he didn't say anything about Democrat/Republican. I've read some on here now going straight to that. Why?

Are longer lines in black neighborhoods "racist"? Let's investigate. Find out why they are longer. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't.

I don't have a problem with people voicing their opinions. If we suppress or ridicule his comments, then we are doing the same as was done to Drew Brees and to those hundreds and hundreds of doctors and scientists who differ from the Fauci's of the world spreading fear.

It is fact that many of the places that experienced long lines is in areas that would be considered in a mostly non-white areas. But there were long lines in other areas that are "white" as well. But there are reports that the non-white areas have had a bigger impact with their polling places closing in recent years and the number of voters per polling place in those areas are extremely high. And this information has been validated as being true. That is where this "racism" claim is coming from by many people over the past several years.

I am not suggesting Lebron not speak. I asked if long lines are racist. The voting laws are the same in every county and everyone has the same chance to early vote or vote by mail where that is available. I dont see how it is racist.

It is a primary so dem or rep is only important if discussing which party controls the county in question.

Lebron should speak. He should also be informed. There is a responsibility that comes with a loud voice.

How about investing in a copy machine with a paper backup?

Of course not... people today are too lazy to even count anymore.

Trust the machines and computers to do it. What can go wrong?

Be careful with that. How many times does Trump speak or say things that are completely untrue or unproven?
