Damn, I really wanted to root for them too. Now I can’t.2 yr 8 mil
It makes sense for someone hoping to claim undue credit for a title.
The Sixers were already gonna be a title favorite for next year with the addition of a superstar in Jaylen Brown, All Stars Maxey and Embiid, and a budding star in Edgecombe. But not many people realized it yet.
So now it will look like LeBron is the guy who pushed them over the top and won them the title, when that’s actually a team perfectly capable of winning the title without him.
LeBron is just trying to win another title or 2 if they somehow went back to back. He wants 6 like Jordan. Jordan lives rent free n his head.

Maybe capable but if they win now it will look like he made a real difference. It makes sense for someone hoping to claim undue credit for a title.

“BREAKING: Sixers Trade Maxey for Bronny”LeBron going to the most loaded team possible lol. I am sure Bronny won't be far behind

lol. I bet Luka wouldn’t mind that.“BREAKING: Sixers Trade Maxey for Bronny”
Sounds more like LeBron is living in your head.
That team is loaded on paper.
That team is loaded on paper.
Wow, best starting 5 of all time? Sheesh. That’s probably, on paper at least, the best starting 5 of all time. Embiid has to stay healthy though or it won’t matter.
Spoiler: it’s probably not going to matter. Embiid has been in the league 12 season and played more than 60 games only 4 times. Played in more than half the games only 6 times and averages just under 41 games played.
I feel for Sixers fans. Because he’s going to be one of the biggest what ifs of all time. Especially watching guys like Maxey and Edgecomb waste their careers next to him and now probably going to have to see the best starting lineup on paper in history fall short because of it too.
I hope they get it though because i’d like to see Maxey get a ring. Hes way up there among our most likeable former players in recent history.
Wow, best starting 5 of all time? Sheesh.
You gonna put the Sixers lineup over the 87-88 Lakers? That team had:
PG - Magic Johnson (a 6'8" PG who averaged 20 ppg, 12 boards, 6 assists and 1.5 steals)
SG - Byron Scott (21.7 ppg, 4 boards, 4 assists and 4 steals)
SF - James Worthy (19.7 ppg, 5 boards, 4 assists, and 1 steal)
PF - A.C. Green (11.4 ppg, 9 boards, and assist and a steal a game)
C - Kareem Abdul-Jabaar (14.6 ppg, 6 boards, 2 assists, a over a block a game)
Honorable mentions to the 86-87 Boston Celtics with Johnson, Ainge, Bird, Parrish and McHale... and the 69-70 Lakers that had Wilt, West, and Elgin Baylor.
I mean the Sixers roster is good on paper, but not even close to those all time giants.
I'm a little surprised; I expected him to go back to Cleveland. Philly isn't the lock some seem to think; it's been a long time since Embiid played 40 games in a season and Lebron's workload will be managed.
You don't think Lebron ran that due diligence on Joel?Theyre much better off without embid.
LeBron always joins the best team he can find. I’m shocked he took such a pay cut this time.It makes sense for someone hoping to claim undue credit for a title.

in 85-86 (leading into that 86-87 starting lineup):
Magic was an All-Star, NBA 1st Team, and finished 3rd in MVP voting
Worthy was an All-Star, NBA 3rd Team (designated as ORV back then), and finished 12th in MVP voting. The guys who beat out Worthy for All-NBA 1st and 2nd team that year at SF? The MVP Larry Bird and Charles Barkley (6th in MVP voting).
Kareem was an All-Star, 1st Team NBA, and finished 5th in MVP voting
Scott was splitting starts and playing time with Michael Cooper (4th in 6 MOY voting, 2nd Team All-Defense), AC Green was not the expected starter (on paper at PF for 86-87) he had only played 18 minutes a game and started a single game in 85-86. Kurt Rambis was the starter and expected to be going into 86-87 ironically. You could give these two to the current projected Sixers without much argument straight up, but Scott had a year much better than expected, and Michael Cooper (who on paper should have been the starter) backed up Scott and Copper won Defensive Player of the Year coming in to back up Scott as the first guy off the bench. He finished 3rd that year in 6th Man Award, and of course was 1st Team all-defense. So the Shooting Guard spot is really tough to compare because you had a 3 point sniper swap subbing with the Defensive Player of the Year. Edgecomb is neither.
But comparing eras is really difficult, especially when the rules are different now. Not saying one is better than the other, but they are different flavors of the same drink.
You don't think Lebron ran that due diligence on Joel?
This recipe is simple - they have three young horses to carry them through the regular season to no less than a 4 seed. You load manage Lebron and Joel to be ready for April. May not even need both of them full throttle early in the playoffs.
As for best roster of all-time. They have two MVP's on the roster, as well as two other all-nba team members. And perhaps one of the 5 best young players in the league. At their peaks, this Sixer's team on paper might be better. Issue is Lebron and Embiid are not at their peaks, and these guys are playing together for the first time.
And for the very reason you stated, this is where I expected him to go ever since the brown trade. I just looked at the rosters and thought this would be his best chance at a ring. Ol ringchaser. It makes sense for someone hoping to claim undue credit for a title.

The man is a billionaire. The pay means nothing now.LeBron always joins the best team he can find. I’m shocked he took such a pay cut this time.
The second unit is what I question here besides Embiid health which is the biggest one. Wade and Barlow are really solid non-stats guys and Simons can have some punch. Can Philon hit? I feel they aren't done with the roster but agree, this was best of the teams he was interested in (Spurs was best at how cheap he was willing to go)Smart move by him. 76ers wrre the best on-paper roster for him to potentially win another title. Will be interesting to see how it all comes together.
If I was Lebron, I would do whatever it takes to get that 5th or even 6th ring. If that means coming off the bench to dominate the 2nd units, than so be it.
Well you can count the Sixers out for winning a championship for the next two years.2 yr 8 mil

No, others are agreeing with me. LeBron has a jordan complex.
Hes never gonna be as good as Jordan. Hes not as clutch.
