A recurring theme for LSU. How did Jesus Miles not have even a decent backup for this season? Especially considering what a head case Perriloux was anyway?

when you have Russell, Flynn, Perrilloux, and then Lee committing...who wants to come into that if you are a top QB? Russell leaves early and then Flynn is a Sr...and Perilloux turns idiot...kinda easy to see how they are in this situation for a smart person

Wait, what?

Keep making excuses for Miles. I have a feeling the wheels are going to come off his ship in the next year or two. He doesn't have a QB worth a tinker's damn on their roster right now. He should've been able to get someone competent in there to back up Perrilloux if he's such a frickin genius.

I'm not saying he's a bad coach - just that Saban is better, and I think the next couple of years will prove that.

USC? They are in a 1 team conference and based in LA...and I dont mean Louisiana

Give me another example of a top team that lost 3 starting QB's in 2 seasons and still won 9-10 games the next season...hell, they are 33rd in the country in offense with a Freshmen QB...yeah, they suck

Jarrett Lee is incredibly erratic and today he is being eaten alive. Against the top teams in the league, he has been mediocre to terrible. Teams lose starting QB's all the time. The only thing Miles wouldn't have been completely prepared for was Perrilloux's dismissal. However, with his history, you'd have to think an intelligent person would have a competent back-up plan. He didn't. In addition, LSU has the worst defense in the SEC. I know they lost a lot of starters, but you would expect an LSU to reload and at least have a decent defense. They don't. WE scored 24 on them. Let that sink in for a second.

My overall point is that most unbiased observers are noticing a bit of a slip from LSU. You, however, are not unbiased when it comes to LSU, as we've seen. My thought is that LSU will drop down to a 7-9 win team in the next few years instead of the consistent 10-11 wins. Miles is not a bad coach. He's good, actually. Problem is that Saban is better, and Miles won't be able to sustain long-term the success Saban created.

"Jarrett Lee is incredibly erratic and today he is being eaten alive"

He isnt having a very good day, but he had some very critical drops also. He is a Freshman, he is going to get better. I dont think you will be saying **** about how he plays 2 years from now...

"In addition, LSU has the worst defense in the SEC. I know they lost a lot of starters, but you would expect an LSU to reload and at least have a decent defense. "

They have new players and are inexperienced...I also question some of their looks by their new DC's...They definitely need some adjustments here...

"Miles is not a bad coach. He's good, actually. Problem is that Saban is better, and Miles won't be able to sustain long-term the success Saban created."

Saban lost at least 3 games every year he was at LSU except one season, including his last...Miles has yet to lose 3 games in a season...Miles > Saban...
No SEC team can maintain the success they have had without a little slip...hell, its not like he has pulled a Fulmer or Tooberville

All your excuses for LSU are that they are young and inexperienced.

Outside of Wilson (who has improved greatly this year), Alabama is doing this with a ton of young players.

Saban > Miles

1. I said "Except for Wilson". Way to read.

2. I notice you conveniently left out WR. How unusual of you to leave out the elements of your argument that don't support it. Jones is already among the top receivers in the SEC, and has transformed their offense as a result of teams having to focus on him. You leaving out that position is hilarious.

3. Coffee is a junior, but Ingram is a freshman and has been a key ingredient, and has more TD's rushing than Coffee, as a matter of fact (8-7).

4. Experienced OL helps obviously, but the playmakers Saban has brought in is what has turned Alabama into such a dangerous team. Defense was always there.

Point is, Alabama has a ton of young players and is #1 in the nation. LSU has a lot of young players, and you are using it as an excuse for them to have slipped this year. I think it shows that Saban outclasses Miles. Either he's better at coaching young players, or he has recruited better young players. Either way, your guy comes out second.
