Lee does not telegraph every one of his passes and that he is a legit SEC QB? Right...

for an offense that is in the top 1/3 of the country...I think that says enough

1. I've said he wasnt ready for college football this year- Mullen obviously agrees
2. I've said he is not a very good runner- Mullen all but quoted that the other day
3. I've said he wont beat out Newton- I hope we have that QB battle
4. He's had trouble completing passes against our secondary- that tells me all I need to know
5. Everybody is so quick to defend him- yet nobody has gotten it through their skull that in a choice of playing Stegall or Russell- Mullen has chosen Stegall- who arrived late- aGAIN, that tells me all I need to know.

Its not like Mullen couldnt have gotten Russell ready and RS'ed Stegall

despite having a below average Sun Belt QB. Don't get me wrong, I am pulling for him to succeed, but I just do not believe that he has the tools necessary for the SEC.

Anyone that thinks Lee is a good QB is retarded. Several games this year he has been the MVP for the other team. He's awful

We went to the game, and Tyson Lee was outstanding. After the game we listened to the MTSU radio network, and in their interviews after the game one of their coaches was saying what a great, "big time back" Dixon is. He also said that Dixon was not the best player on the field today. He said that Tyson Lee was by far the best football player in the game today. He went on and on about his fabulous play. If not for the fumbles this year (and some unfortunate officiating in the Houston game) , he would be having one great year, and we would have a few more wins.

Anyone who thinks Lee has SEC talent has not watched football in the past 30 years. He does not have the arm to make the throws that SEC QBs have to make. He also stares down one receiver and throws it to them no matter what. He is much better out of the pocket, and I will admit that most of that has to do with him not being able to see over the line (which is just another reason he is not a SEC caliber QB). You are smoking crack if you think he would be on the 3 deep at any other SEC school.
I think that Tyson is gritty, and competes with everything that he has, but that still does not make him adequate to run our offense. Mullen should get all of the credit for even making Lee look serviceable. Even so, we have ZERO ability to throw the ball down field, and that is a major drawback to the rest of our offense (allows the safeties to walk up to play the run).
Coach34, I know that you have to act like you know all things at all times, but proclaiming Lee as a good QB is straight laughable. Is he the best option we have right now? Maybe, but that certainly does not make him good.

1. I've never said he was good, but he is doing a pretty good job. You want to act like he is the worst QB in the country, and that is just dumb. He played a great game today.

2. A college football coach spoke on the radio today about what a good job he has done all year, minus the fumbles. And he is correct. Now while you may be great at your job of making copies, or timing the fries, or even programming computers, you obviously arent very good at seeing a QB doing a pretty good job. He is playing the QB position better than anybody we have had since Fant and Madkin. And that is good enough.

Its like some of you people have suddenly forgotten the last 7 years. No he's not perfect, but we are having one of the best offensive seasons in school history- and you act like we are under Crooms and ranked 109th in offense because of him. It's just crazy

And he is one of the most productive QB's in the conference. Granted he would like to be 4 inches taller, but his size makes his accomplishments even more remarkable. We are very fortunate to have him. The MTSU coach disagrees with you, but perhaps you know more about football than he.</p>

The only knock on him in comparison to other SEC QB's is his height. I think his mistake rate is about the same as most other qb's in the SEC. His athleticism is surprising but he is proving it over the past several games. We need him to do a better job of getting the ball into the endzone. But he is an SEC quarterback, and he's been playing fairly well.

Lee moves the offense and generally does not make mistakes. That's all we can ask for right now, so I'll take it.

I can't get all upset because we don't have a QB that can put the team on his back and will a win.

Tyson Lee is awesome, one of the top QBs in the SEC. He is super awesome throwing the ball down field and is the greatest runner since Michael Vick. His amazing SEC arm is the only reason Dixon is any good, because opposing teams have to keep 2 safeties back at all times. He also almost never turns the ball over..........

and to your point number 2) I have a super sweet Pontiac that says you are wrong about me.

He's ALL WEVE GOT, *******. Who the 17 do you want to play? Yea, lets burn TR's redshirt 7 games into the season, or let's put in some bum that's been in baseball for 4 years. That's the ticket. For us to be averaging over 380 yards per game with a guy that can't throw it 20 yards downfield is miraculous and shows just how inventive Mullen is. Tyson is doing all that is asked of him, and he kept us (hopefully barring a late injury) from having to use a TRUE FRESHMAN QB.. Isn't that what all you dickheads were whining about all summer long?

Please tell me this was sarcastic. Generally does not make mistakes? Really? Until the MTSU game he was coughing it up 4 times a game. I know he is the best option we have right now and that sucks.

and by a college football coach, not a message board expert...amazing

are that he stares down receivers or has that bad of an arm, or heck even his height or lack thereof as much as it is taking care of the football.

I could take Tyson as he is doing all of those things, and if he would just take care of the football, I would be his biggest fan.

He may stare down receivers, but he's completing passes despite it, and he doesn't throw a whole lot of INT's because of it. Several of his INT's have come because he hit an open WR who had the ball bounce off of their hands into the arms of a DB. I haven't seen a whole lot of DB's jumping routes or anything like that on us.

Lee's arm is not going to remind anyone of Jeff George or JaMarcus Russell, but we do at least throw downfield enough to keep people honest. I would much prefer someone with accuracy over arm strength anyway. See Joe Montana.

He can't do anything about his height. If he was 6 foot tall, he would have certainly gotten at least a couple of C-USA offers.

As long as he does what he did today- take care of the ball- we're going to have a great chance of winning.

I seem to remember college football coaches complimenting Croom on his gameplans too just after they ***-raped us.
