Glad to have you on board. What's better for PSU is not obsessing over JoePa, and not allowing the topic to derail the governance of the institution, and not painting everyone who doesn't worship as you do as a bad person trying to bring the university down from the inside.

What's better for PSU is $50M in naming rights to help fund a stadium renovation. What's not better is no money, and only being given some story about they're convinced they could have ... but didn't ... raise more money ... and then launching into a diatribe about JoePa yet again, showing that your interests aren't about proper governance, but simply about JoePa. What's not better is, after launching into that off-topic diatribe, then trying to justify that diatribe by hypothesizing that goodwill is a balance sheet item for PSU and that justifies no money, but stories of possible money ... even though, by definition, goodwill can never be a balance sheet item for PSU.

Better for PSU is doing things for PSU, not trying to derail everything so we can talk about JoePa some more.
Can you please explain what you said here like we’re all 7 years-old?

Ex-con Dambly?

Hot head Dandrea?

Infidelity poster boy Schuyler?
I've heard at least one trustee has been accusing other trustees of being racists, so I'm thinking that may well have turned into actual threats. Anyone know who has been throwing "racist" around?

So, you have no idea if this transgression actually happened, nor any idea who may have said the thing you don't know was said ... but you're going to try to blanket smear the entirety of the BoT by repeating the alleged transgression?

Awful. Barry's supporters just keep making it worse, when it's already hard for it to get much worse.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Maybe now we can stop draining the university's resources, and the wallets of well-meaning but deluded Barry supporters, and start moving forward toward a better PSU.

Wash all that negative energy away and put positive energy toward fundraising to honor JoePa, rather than complaining that others aren't doing it for you.

Allegedly there are hundreds of thousands of alumni just sitting there waiting to write checks toward this end ... should be super easy to make it happen. Go for it, guys.

Some people shouldn't post on social media and/or they should think before they crack a distasteful joke.

As one example, the brief cited a Facebook comment by Fenchak in 2016, prior to his election as a trustee, in which he called a female former trustee a “stupid *****” and a “dried up POS,” adding that he would suggest she shoot herself in the head “but that probably wouldn’t damage any working organs. So please, respectfully, just blow away — like old, dried up dog crap.”

SIAP, but YIKES

For those with the "I'm going to write in a candidate" stance...from my recollection, that's not an option, and they certainly wouldn't be changing things up this year to allow it.

I'm going to do just that. But it probably will be the last time I bother voting. I'm not "people like them".

It's like voting in East Germany was.

"Alles Klar. Herr Commissar."...
You backed a legitimately bad person. He's going to continue begging to continue his vanity project. For now, the BoT was successful in heading off Barry Hitler's reign of terror.

Yes.
We did confirm that write ins are allowable and valid.
Barry, any response to the reporting from statecollege.com that stated "As one example, the brief cited a Facebook comment by Fenchak in 2016, prior to his election as a trustee, in which he called a female former trustee a “stupid *****” and a “dried up POS,” adding that he would suggest she shoot herself in the head “but that probably wouldn’t damage any working organs. The funny thing is, people on this board cry about me saying things that are 1/100th as offensive as so many things Barry has said, to the point where they try to get me banned and put me on ignore ... but they champion Barry to represent them and their views.

Some folks have lost their minds ...

I don't think that comment by Fenchak in 2016 aligns with the PSU values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Discovery, Excellence, and Community

Seek help.
Look, Barry can be a jerk, and that's putting it kindly. But what the BOT has done is far worse--for the university and for the alumni. If you can only vote for the "allowed" candidates and you are not allowed to dissent in any way, shape, or form from the majority (and that is all in the new rules), then it's not a free democratic board. It's something else. A rubber stamp comes to mind. And who controls the stamp and for what reasons?

you just compared a university trustee election that is largely symbolic to East Germany because a guy with a history of derogatory remarks towards women and a history of suing the university got banned from running

Every other BoT that I’m aware of that has an alumni slot has a prescreening feature. PSU was actually the outlier. Stop making up things to be enraged over.

It's not just that, as you would know if you've been reading my comments all along. Because Lubrano is next on the hit list. And I've noted the fact that no dissent is allowed and any public comment by a trustee other than the party line is prohibited on pain of dismissal from the board--and that's clearly stated in the new rules. I stand by my statement--and I actually visited East Germany and know folks from there. And he sued the board rightly. Trustees have a fiduciary right--nay DUTY, to see the books.

Again. Barry can be a jerk. And inappropriate. No disagreement there. But it's the principle here. Folks are not prohibited for running for public office in the US just because they make inappropriate comments or sue the government. Heck--look at some current politicians (pick your party--you'll find some)....

And the Board is NOT "largely symbolic". They handle and approve millions of dollars.
