Reached his peak as a coach with his pitching decisions in this tournament. They were horrible. Where was White tonight?

The entire tournament as in how he was undefeated going into the CWS?

Either he was playing to win out the losers bracket and raised the white flag in an 0-2 hole, or he is incompetent. I don’t know which, but I hope it was the former.

I don’t know why, but White seems to be about the 6th or 7th guy down the list that Lemonis trusts. I’ve never been able to figure out exactly when he likes using him, but it’s like he holds on to him for some perfect scenario, and that scenario only comes around about 20% of the time.

White was probably the most underutilized player on our roster

There is no doubt about it. One thing is certain, his arm will be fresh for mlb.

Liebelt and Gordon have been our best relievers all year and both have been lights out in the tournament so far. Trusting those guys makes all the sense in the world, unfortunately just didn’t work out this time.

You seem to be more pragmatic about baseball than football. Just an observation. Not a dis.

I agree but at some point he had to realize Liebelt wasn't on especially after 2 walks. Plus IMO it's do or die no reason not to have someone one up in the bullpen during the bottom of the 7th, similar to what Louisville did. Also as mentioned don't understand not using White at least in the 8th and Gordon in the 9th which he's done most of the year. These games have been low scoring, we in particular didn't hit very well so more reason to be prepared in you're possible last game.

Who said he was incompetent? You might be a terrible poster, but you might be right....let’s consider the evidence

Damn some of you are harsh considering you are such great baseball minds who I assume decided to pursue an alternate career other than coaching. But I guess any poor soul could have coached this team to the CWS and won 50+ games in year one!

Not making excuses for Lieb and Gordo, but the hp ump completely stopped calling the low strike in 7th thru 9th innings...except for Louisville, seemed to still be getting those calls. Am right on this, or just ********?

All started by not saving small for vandy.

Yeah because the guy who barely got out of the 5th inning while surrendering 3 runs to Auburn would have done soooo much better against a much more talented lineup. We started Small when we should have. The difference of what we would have gotten vs. Vandy was negligible. Can’t sacrifice the opportunity to start him twice before the Finals if you need to for no benefit.

I’m as big a Lemonis fan as you will find and the pitching decisions were questionable. Not in hindsight, I was questioning them as they happend

Liebelt nor Gordon were sharp, but JEEEZUS we had several of those guys struck out and the ump squeezed us BIG TIME. My *** wouldda gotten tossed in that game. We had ONE decent HP strike zone the entire NCAA.

Kyle Peterson was agreeing with you repeatedly last night.

Also, We don't give up the first 2 runs last either if the ump called the 3rd strike that Peterson said that the ump missed badly. If he calls that pitch strike 3 instead of ball 4, they have one out and still have men on first and second instead of no outs and bases loaded. Then the shortstop is not playing in and the ball that he fielded in the hole but couldn't make a throw on becomes an easy double play and we are out of the inning.

I’m not saying there weren’t questionable decisions. But starting Small against Auburn wasn’t one of them.
