If you notice I didn't make an opinion. Just seeing what the general feelings would be if it were to happen or say if you were the AD to make the hire.

If say Stoops was fired I can see Mitch going after Les without researching it and understanding that if Les didnt win big at LSU with all that talent he isnt winning hardly at ALL at UK.

No. He is the anti Hal Mumme. Mumme acted like defense and special teams didn't matter and Les acts like offense doesn't matter.

Of course not. Why in holy hell would UK hire a coach who has won a BCS championship, 2 SEC championships, 142-55 career record. I mean, are you kidding me?? Why hire a guy like that when we can get some up and comer hotshot coordinator! Geez...
He would be an abysmal failure here. He won early in his time at LSU but has tailed off in spite of having a roster full of 5 stars. He had 18 starters back this year and has been terrible.

Eleven years at lsu: Eleven straight bowl games, including two bcs nc games.
His two worst seasons with only 8 wins. awful.

Surely to god he could win 6 frikkin' games at uk to get us to the whatever bowl.

As you know we are not LSU. The State of Louisiana is a high school hotbed and they put out some world class athletes. Kentucky puts out a few but very few. So Miles would have to do it on coaching. I am not sure that would make him a winner here.

One thing for sure LSU doesn't mess around. If one of our coaches had the record quoted above we would name the stadium after him. At LSU you get your walking papers by blowing a game at Auburn. Of course to be honest he almost got the boot last year so he was on borrowed time. Good luck Les.

Who BETTER are we going to get? I say yes, IF he would even come, which he probably wouldn't. He needs a good OC to run the offense, that's obvious, and of course he can recruit elite talent.
But, he isn't coming to UK......

"So miles would have to do it on coaching."

That's what i'm saying. i believe a proven coach, especially one in the sec, could win six games with the talent we now have.

Miles has proven to be a far better HC than CMS at this point.

Not my pick for the future of the program but there is no comparison if in fact we are comparing the two.

We don't need a coach. Just 4 games in. Let's see how it goes. Best coached game and a win last night. I see an improving team

Sometimes you just stay somewere too long. The guy can coach. See his overall records posted above.

This is why are fans are insane, most people saying they dont want him. Thats laughable, he would be the best football coach we've had besides the Bear. He wouldn't take this jib so uts moot. I don't think our fans realize that most big name coaches wouldn't touch us. A lot if oyr fans are completely unrealistic, this is UK football, not basketball

There is no doubt Miles is light years ahead of Stoops as far as coaching. But is he the right fit here? I don't see him getting the talent here for him to be successful with the 3 yards and a cloud of dust way he loves to coach.

Barney would never try and get a coach who has won a championship. He would much rather have a linebackers coach make his head coaching debut in the SEC.

Kinda sounds like what Minn. fans were saying about Tubby though . Or us with Bill Curry . I got no opinion on this , hard to say .

He wouldn't be my first choice, but beggars can't be choosers. Last time I checked, we are pan handling.

If we were able to hire Les Miles I would be satisfied, if not overly excited. As always, I would hope for the best.

Not that he would come but this could be true, he spent a long time at LSU with 80% Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas recruits.

Les Miles early in his career at LSU or Okie State would be great.

Obviously a better HC than Stoops right now, not sure what fire he has in his belly or if he could recruit north of Memphis...

With a roster 85% from Louisiana. But didn't okie state hire Miles when all he had was coordinator experience? Idiots!

No, as someone stated earlier....... Bill Curry part 2. Curry won 7, 9, and 10 games at Bama, and went 26-52 here at UK.
