Anybody else as excited as I am? I can't recall looking forward to a tv show finale more than this one. I have several Abita Jockamo's on ice as we speak. Just seemed like an appropriate beer for tonight.

It's a good night for TV. Season Finale of True Detective- Recording on DVR for later. The Walking Dead-Recording on DVR for later. Resurrection season premier tonight on ABC- Going to watch this one live since the DVR will only record two shows at a time. I watched the "original" idea for this show last year on the Sundance channel. It was a French TV series called "The Returned" and it was very good plus some nice French nudity! I'm wondering if ABC will <17> it up! I'm ready for season 2 of "The Returned" from the French!

ETA. But on a bright point I can totally see them coming back for season 2. Anybody noticed how pissed the wife was when she came to see him in the hospital?

A lot of action in final episode. But didn't tie all loose ends together. Probably the way they wanted it.

So who knows where this old Civil war fort is? It looks very similar to Fort Morgan in Alabama but overgrown. Is there a similar one in way down south Louisiana?

Time is a flat circle on my HBO GO.

Still trying to get it started. HBO GO crashed due to demand.

Lots of loose ends still. Hoping they are pulling our leg and going to answer some stuff next season. Notice when Cohl said we didn't get them all and Hart said "but we got ours". I'm wondering if it wl be different detectives and setting but a piece of the same giant mystery.

HBO.com's episode synopsis is very handy and points out things I don't recognize. For instance when Rust entered the large chamber, there was a "multi-headed skeleton wearing a crown of antlers and yellow cloak."

I remember seeing this figure but did notice the cloak.

I think the show was/is better than we realize it was. The awesome thing about the show is how it gave us tidbits. It let us try to figure it out and see where the light was. It gave us each a ton of rope to run with our ideas and thoughts.

In the end, it couldn't be perfect for us. We all wanted our thought/plan to be the right one. Whether it was Marty or his wife or her dad or whatever. But, the end was good. It just was what it was. Didn't have the enormous, crazy twist that when you really reviewed things didn't make sense.

Only thing I have issue with is that Cohle couldn't have survived that wound. No way. We have all seen Reservoir. Gut shot/cut like that, you are done. But, it gave him a chance to recover (himself and his life).

I liked it.

Doesn't look like it to me...

Plus, Ft. Livingston is on an island. There are plenty of overgrown locations like that in Louisiana without loading a production company onto boats.

If you have ever been to Ft Morgan in Alabama you would immediately recognize it as a civil war fort usually guarding a bay like Mobile.

"The HBO series True Detective was filmed on location at Fort Macomb. The fort portrays "Carcosa," where the crimes at the heart of the series were committed. [2]"

You win, unless you wrote that lol
