POSITIVES:

Everyone who played (except BB - he did not see enough timeeither game to make a difference)showed improvement over game one

Coming back like this team did can only do wonders for its chemistry and experience.

This should end up a good win come tournament time.

Someone posted we cant make free throws. They must not have seen the first game. We missed some true, but Bryant stepping up and knocking down three in a row with a minute to go to get us within one was huge.

TB made his presence known at times. He was a non factor game one. Lewis' D picked up too but still a long ways to go.

Movement and shooting was very well done, first half. Stans said we got tired the second half. That may be...we slowed down and at times everyone looked afraid to shoot. RB and RJ passed up some open looks. I expect that from the new guys maybe, but not them.

Good offensive rebounding from KA. Very tough game he played. Why does he always look like he wants to be somewhere else?

ASU didnt press. Not once. After watching TS press us to death at the end of game one, I thought they might try some.

NEGATIVES

We have got to learn to stop their offensive rebounding, especially on the back side. There are alwasy going to be some you miss, but they got too many second chance points from just taking a miss off the boards when we had NO ONE from behind. I was startled to learn that the second chance points were even - we take away the easy ones, the game isnt that close.

We got screened too many times, freeing Sims. Then again, he can shoot. Some of those threes were NBAs. Still, we had trouble fighting through them at times.

I'm sure others will point out more. Overall, a huge win over a decent team without our two best. And to win it the way we did will work wonders. Like Stans said - one game at a time. If we survive this - and we will - this is going to be a strong, experienced team come SEC and tourney time.

GO DAWGS!

but would you expect anything less. We could have the Lakers starting lineup and somehow, we would make it difficult on ourselves.

no doubt. And we are gonna likely lose an early game or two. But I was more encouraged after last night. I thought we had a good chance to lose this game (before it started) based on the way ASU played so far and after that poor game against TS. I'll say one thing, this team always surprises, good and bad. We shut down one of their stud scorers last night (I think he hit two shots all night and no threes) and refused to go down in the end when most teams would have. And we shot and moved the ball fairly well in the first half and built out that lead. THEN lost it promptly, lol. Hate it for the people who left the Hump at the two minute mark.

Cant wait to see how ASU does at Florida Sunday. Probably won't be a buzzer beater :)

Elgin Bailey. He may be the worst basketball player to ever play college basketball. The dude seriously missed 5 or 6 point blank layups. This has nothing to do with a bad ankle or a bad knee. When you're directly next to the basket, and you're 6'7" or whatever he is, you should be able to make a damn layup with no legs at all. I feel pretty certain that he won't see another single minute of PT when Sidney gets back.

Was that the famous Stansbury trap zone that sparked the comeback?

There are about 3 things Stansbury tends to do well as a coach:

1. Coach defense and rebounding (although the rebounding part of that seems to be slipping)

2. Come up with scoring plays during a timeout; and

3. Coach the trap zone. (although its been a while since we've seen that)

Once he has a big man who can receive the ball down low on every single possession, this could truly be a Stansbury team we all recognize.

but offensively, we did well. Had 14 second chance points, as did ASU.

Too many off side rebounds for ASU - we had no one on the back most of the time.

Even though a scoring record was almost set at the Hump, we didn't do too bad. We shut one of their two scorers down and we kept the shooting percentage down - dude got 40 bc he put up 31 shots. they had no one else to go to.
