I think the 2013 MC team was one of the best but they did have a loss...but screw it I’ll go with

2013 MC

2014 Providence

2015 Loyola

2019 MC

2019- LWE (although I thought 2018 was better but we know what happened)

2015 LA ran the table. Beat the unbeatable HF Vikings and then put a running clock on Marist int the title game. Definite #1 seed.

Since we are playing fantasy match up here are Calpreps top 10 for IL since 2003. Oswego seem like a bit an outlier but all those other teams were loaded.

1) 2006 Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton, IL

2) 2015 Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL)

3) 2010 Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton, IL)

4) 2003 Carmel (Mundelein, IL)

5) 2003 Oswego (IL)

6) 2003 Lockport (IL)

7) 2016 Prairie Ridge (Crystal Lake, IL

8) 2005 Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL)

9) 2016 Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL)

10) 2009 Maine South (Park Ridge, IL)

yes if we are talking outside of the decade was a shame they never got to play.
Definitely a top game we missed out on. I would put that #1 on my list. Others on my MC list over time would be : 1988-89 MC vs Richards, '90 MC vs JC, '96 MC vs PC, '99 MC defense vs Nap C, 2000 MC vs JC rematch with Aaron Marshall at QB (in the parking lot????) and '19 MC v LWE

From 2010-2019 my final would be WWS '10 vs LWE '17. Winner plays '15 LA for title. Have to go with them as they beat MC in '12 and '13 as well as PC in '14 and '15 was their best team.

We are talking about the best team of the decade. MC’s 2019 team is not the best team of the decade. They were very talented, despite the fact that they were very young all around the ball. If MC goes 14-0 next year (very possible) and clock whomever they play in the title game, I would consider them the best of the past 10 years.

That Oswego team had a lot of talent and I believe had to go to East Side on their run to the championship.

Fair enough -- let's hope everyone gets to play.

What if ESL runs the table with a W over SJB?

I’ve said before I don’t think it’s going to be a good trip for the Flyers but if they run the table next year they are #1 beating SJB would be the best win by an IL team since the 90’s.

Some real great programs on this list. But some would argue that some of these teams are not worthy of their rankings.

People may disagree with the ranking but all the teams on this list are worthy of being there. At least that is my opinion.

I personally feel the rankings are pretty accurate. Actually it was my attempt to bring some levity into the thread. A MC fan (everyone knows him) routinely lets Montini and JCA have it because they won't play up from their class and feels that their championship trophies are tainted because of that.

Yes, the poster bring it up pretty often. The problem is LA could say the same for MC. It's over 500 schools in Illinois and if you win a trophy that is a heck of an accomplishment. Any team that has won multiple should definitely be recognized. The most talent doesn't always win and teenagers are unpredictable. I would argue Rochester should be number 1 but, I also understand max preps logic.
