I would ask for and welcome the Ninja's input. But he has a new boss now.

Wisdom says let MK handle it, m-kay?

I like the guy and wish him well in his future endeavors, but he didn't earn the right to name his successor. I understand why he would leave, but leaving IS leaving. It's not like he's been here 30+ years and built our athletics department. MSU is bigger than Greg Byrne. If he did his job right, Stricklin is waiting in the wings to pick up where Greg leaves off. However, that decision should be left up to Keenum to decide if Stricklin is ready or whether we should go a different direction.

in my opinion. Who wants to be replaced by someone better, and also why would someone choose someone that will be better than them? So people can say "Gee that Byrne guy actually kind of sucked"?

I would value Byrne's input, but Keenum needs to have the final say.

When you let people "name their successor" you run into problems like we had with Polk, and really when you think about it, it's the lazy way to go as far as hiring. (Cough, LT)
