in my opinion. Who wants to be replaced by someone better, and also why would someone choose someone that will be better than them? So people can say "Gee that Byrne guy actually kind of sucked"?
I would value Byrne's input, but Keenum needs to have the final say.
When you let people "name their successor" you run into problems like we had with Polk, and really when you think about it, it's the lazy way to go as far as hiring. (Cough, LT)
