interestingly to me, one of the first decisions our committee made (meaning archie and mike glenn) was that they would not hire anyone who had not had HC experience (i assume successfully). given where we were it would clearly be somebody from a small/smaller school, but they believed that proven ability to be teh head guy was critical. their opinion was that a coor was too much of an unknown. most all HC have at some point been coor but its a different world as HC. some of you stat guys could probably find out what % of coor are successful moving to hc positions. of course you have to define successful.
