that is when we should see a completely new "Cohen" team. I am particularly interested in Chase Domino from alabama. Anyone know the word on him? He played with Norris in H.S. last year and Norris has said that he was the best player on the team and I believe that he is considered the top player in alabama this year. If we get him, he would certainly be in the outfield with Bradford and maybe Stark? On the infield we would probably have Norris, Henderson, the freshman that has played second (name escapes me), and maybe the big Olineman from Harrison Central? Who catches?

1B - Norris/Rea
2b - Frazier/Henderson
ss - Frazier/Henderson
3b - ??
C - ?? Bozeman?
OF - Brownlee, Bradford, Stark, Renfroe/Norris?

Somebody fill in the blanks. Can Stark play in the infield? Can Frazier move to short?

The good news is that we don't lose a single arm. Infield appears to be the weak spot. Ogden and Parks have handled the left side very well.

and still got better. Not sure of the averages and all but a fool can see this team is better. So I'm not worried. I think the lineup is:

1B: Norris
2B: Stark
SS: Frazier
3B: Brayden Jones
LF: Henderson
CF: Bradford
RF: whoever else is worth a **** and is hitting
C: Renfroe or Bozeman

or something like that.

We will more than likely get him- I expect him to commit in July, and no earlier than SBW, which has been used as a baseball recruiting weekend for us in the past. For whatever it's worth, Daryl Norris said he was the best player on Fairhope's team last year. He is going to be a corner outfield.

C- My hope is that Hunter Renfroe progresses enough to start here. More realistically, it will pobably Brett Bozeman or Mitch Slauter. Hunter needs to go somewhere like the Alaskan League and catch or get with a catching guru, and he needs at bats.

1B- Wes Rea- the guy from Harrison Central. Jonathan Holder and Norris will get looks as well as Bozeman.
2B- Adam Frazier
3B- Daryl Norris
SS- Demarcus Henderson- if Henderson doesn't progress well, don't be surprised if Taylor Stark starts.

RF- Brandon Woodruff- Freshman from Wheeler. He is 6'4" and is a dual position guy. Question is how will he adjust to SEC pitching? If he doesn't adjust well, you might see Taylor Stark here.
CF- CT Bradford
LF- Brent Brownlee

DH- Bozeman? Renfroe? Woodruff? Stark? Holder? Frost?**

Bench role players- Brayden Jones, Cody Abraham, and Frost.

Pitching staff:

Friday- Routt
Sat- Stratton
Sun. Norris

That's a bad *** pitching staff.

Midweek- Trevor Fitts/Jacob Lindgren/Devin Jones if he doesn't sign with MLB

Closer- Brandon Woodruff- I really think highly of him.

Bullpen

Caleb Reed, Taylor Stark, Hunter Renfroe, CT Bradford, Pollerena, Girodo, hopefully a healthy CC Watson, Bracewell, Busby, Will Cox, Diaz, and Statz.

From what I've seen and read, this is my guess:
1b Norris/rea
2b Frazier
3b Brayden Jones/Norris
SS Henderson
OF Bradford
OF Stark
OF Brownlee
C Bozeman/Renfroe This position scares me the most, Renfroe hasnt looked like he has adjusted to SEC ball at the plate, and I dont know much about Bozeman.
I am Extremely excited about Norris, Bradford, Frazier and Stark. I'm probably getting alittle too wooly, butI think this class couldbethe best classsince the 1995class that included Piatt, Freeman, Dubose, Lee, and Hauswald.

But, he hit 10 home runs as a sophomore and hit .435 that year as well with 9 stolen bases.

This year, he has hit 7 home runs and is hitting .385 with 16 stolen bases.

Lindgren is from St. Stanislaus College on the coast- the same school that Dylan Favre is from.

We might be a little bit deeper at SS than you think- Stark, Henderson, Frazier, and then Matthew Britton- but at the same time I wouldn't be shocked at all if we went out and got another middle infield guy.

And as far as catcher- it might not be a bad idea to get another catcher if for no other reason than depth.

And those will be hard to ever pass up, taking us to Omaha twice.

The outgoing 2007 class was pretty good too, Polk's last good job of recruiting. Although I don't think (not sure) that all those guys like Easley and Moreland were recruited in the same class. Good nucleus though. Had some pitchers that didn't pan out as well.

I think there are plenty of players that might be able to play there. There just isn't one guy who stands out at that spot right now. I'm not going to disagree with anyone about Renfroe being talented, but he could take longer to develop than most people thought, especially with him not getting many at bats this year.

that they are going to get drafted after 3 years no matter what. Unless they just tank obviously. Not sure if I believe that though. It's obvious they aren't ready right now. I think they just need a little coaching to refine things - they've always gotten by before on raw talent.

MLB drafts guys a lot based on talent rather than actual performance. Again, see Devin Jones. As bad as he has been, someone will draft him because he can throw a baseball 97. Of course, they have four levels of minor leagues, and if he stinks it up in the Quad Cities, who gives a crap?

Renfroe and Henderson are similar when you're talking about talent. Renfroe has more tools than CT Bradford. But, I don't think anyone would disagree with me that Bradford is the better baseball player right now.

I have seen Gene say that Hunter Renfroe will be a first round pick and Demarcus will be a top three round pick. That's laughable. For someone to be a first round pick, you have to have tools and you have to have intangibles. The only way that happens is for Renfroe to develop very quickly because while the talent is there, he is very raw. I think he will be good- but the question is when? Is that next year? His junior year? He also played at the lowest level of high school baseball of any of our other recruits- he has the highest jump in talent to make. But it can happen- Caleb Reed played in a league that was about the same level as Renfroe, and it took him a year or so to adjust. Like I said, he just needs to go play somewhere this summer and get at bats and catch.

Henderson is too short to get drafted that high unless he puts up some big time numbers. This is really his first year to concentrate on baseball only- he was Wayne County's QB. And like Renfroe, he needs to go somewhere and get at bats and play. I think he will be a very good player for us, though.

He's being redshirted, so a lot of people aren't talking about him. I think he will be a role player for most of his career- LH pinch hitter, pinch runner, defensive replacement kind of guy. But I think that because Abraham is more of a CF type and we're going to have CT Bradford there for at least three years. And also because I think Brandon Woodruff and if get Chase Domino that they will start. But, I do think that Abraham is a guy that could start in the outfield by the time he is a senior and could be a solid player for us.

I have been impressed with the results this year as I thought MSU was still one year away. It will be interesting to see how the rest of this year plays out for the dogs but regardless, next year's team will definitely be a legit hosting type team on paper.
