I like the choice. While its probably not Starkville's best food, its still really good, but at the same time they break away from Dooey's which most assumed would be ESPN's natural choice.

and not only is the blue plate great, they are now serving certified angus beef. Pretty darn good. They may not have white table cloths and the place looks like a hole in the wall, but it is really good. If you have had a bad steak there i suggest trying them again. Cappes does most all of football and baseball catering jobs. And to top it off, inthe orlando sentinel monday the article on mullen and tebow, mullen mentions cappes as his choice to eat. Interesting huh, looks like cappes has stepped it up.

Seems like a no-brainer to me, if it weren't for the established hard-on for average barbecue.

Though Mullen said he still has a soft spot for his former coaches and players, he's not going to invite them to Cappe's Steakhouse in Starkville - a Mullen recommendation - for Friday Night dining.

article is about mullen/tebows love for each other.

They are serving prime beef and I have never had a bad steak there. Also, Eric is a diehard MSU fan who owns it. i think it would be great if they went there.

cause I can cook an unmarinated steak on a cheap gas grill that was better than the one I got after the kentucky game last year. Extremely pricey for not a real good steak.

And speaking of Cappe's I have heard rumblings that Starkville Cafe is either for sale or has been sold.. Anybody know any truth to that?? I used to love the lunch specials there.

All they did was put a new name on the building and add steaks to the menu. Everything else is... as it was.

I remeber it from the late '80s. The crinkle fries, balls of ground beef pulled out of an old white frig and squashed into burgers. I think of christies every time I walk into guys.
