the much criticized defensive backfield came through big time..... I especially love the one in the end zone where it was a battle of wills between receiver and defender, and we won the struggle

It just goes to show how a good pass rush can make your DBs look much better. The front 7 stepped up in the 4th Q and got in Sudfield's face. I think he got a little greedy on those plays given he had his way with our secondary in the first 3 quarters and naturally assumed if he just threw it up there that his WRs would make the plays.

We lost a major portion of our D backfield last month. Are we still vulnerable back there ?Yup. Is the loss of Austin, if he is out for a while, going to hurt ? Yup. But they are clawing and scratching and doing their best as they do their due diligence to learn as the ball flies on Saturdays.. How often does it happen that the guys who rise from the dust of a brutal event play over their heads when given the chance to play that would not normally been afforded them? I hope that the D Back recruits we are still in the game for take a good hard look at the opportunities that will be presented to them .

Well said. That deep ball could have been picked by someone in a wheelchair. Awful ball, too much air under it, never should have been thrown. The other one, while it shouldn't have been thrown, either, was a GREAT play IMHO.
