florida 04...hopped the fence from the student section, cut my leg pretty good on the hedges and made it to the post just in time for it to come down

Had a friend that went to clear the fence and didn't quite get high enough. He ended up ripping his nut sack open on the fence. He didn't realize it for a few hours and had to go to the emergency room that night to get it repaired.

I was 13, never been to a college football game in my life. I went to Saint Richards (Tony Shell was in my class BTW). My classmate Doug Maccardle had a grandpa who was a lawyer in Jackson, and a MSU alum. He has tickets for the game and let Doug choose someone to come along, and it was me.

So, as we are walking into the stadium, Grandpa says to us - "boys, if this gets ugly, we might leave at halftime". I have no idea what's going on, cowbells, hollering, etc. So, we are sitting down towards the endzone where the last two plays happen, and when the game is over, I have this very vivid picture in my head of all these rolls of toilet paper being unrolled down through the bleachers (I didn't get the whole roll tide thing at the time), and being almost deaf from the cowbells, and this guy climbing the goalpost with some cops grabbing at him. It was a pretty bizarre day all in all, and I can't remember much of it, but I do remember that poor guy trying to get the goalpost thing started.

The Majors beat the heavily favored Tigers from San Antonio...literally 10s of people poured onto the field (at the AD Ron Jurney's suggestion), 3 of whom proceeded to climb the goal post (after running from the one security officer who was chasing them from endzone to endzone). One was on the right upright base...two (maybe three) were on the the left. Instead of breaking, the cross bar rotated counter clockwise on the base and sent the single individual up about 25 or 30 feet in the air on the opposite side. after about 30 or 40 minutes and about 15 more people, one upright broke off...pretty much everybody was already gone.

how in the hell do you not know you ripped your nut sack open for a few hours? Regardless of how much you have had to drink.

soon as norwood scored we ran down and gave channing crowder hell for the last minute four of the game. jumped the fence just about got knocked out when crabtree and myself tried a jumping chest bump but i ended up with a black eye. was so hot andcrowded when the post were coming down, plus i was still dehydrated from the nite before, i decided to 17 totin' and i just climbed on. i rode the post all the way down the field. i actually had to lift my leg up for croom to walk off the field rite under me...if i'd only known that was my one opportunity to kick his ***, or head, or what's difference...was still awesome.

Missed the 2004 field rush my freshman year cause I got to sit in the presidents box with my gf. it was a good idea atthe time but at the end I wished I was in the student section

and know where an upright section is currently being stored. Maybe I should cut it up and put on ebay. Also rushed field in 2000 Florida game. Was in attendance for Arkansas 98 but was too young to get trampled by drunken college kids.

Mom almost tossed 04 piece of goal post in garbage, when I moved out of apartment in cotton district. I almost had a heart attack.

they all sort of blend together. one of them i ended up with a dozen or two people in the amphitheatre with an entire upright. we spent at least an hour jumping up and down on that thing with it propped on the stone wall trying to break it. it never did, we eventually took it to my frat to use a saw on it.

I was on the field for the 96 Alabama game, but was a big part of the 99 egg bowl.

It was 28 degrees at kickoff on Thanksgiving night. We had spent the day with a full Turkey / Dressing spread with all the fixins at our tailgate spot in front of Ballew hall. One of my drunk *** buddies showed up an hour before kick off with a milk jug filled with Ice Pick & we proceeded to go to work. Before long three of us decided to paint up like we had done every other game that year.

Fully decked out in maroon paint with white letters & pom pom kilts, we climbed aboard the giant trailer mounted cowbell (same one we rode many times that season) made a loop around campus and were delivered to the area that is now the Junction. After making an appearance on ESPN's pregame show (lead into commercial) we headed into the stadium. We rang cowbells the entire game & luckily had enough Jim Beam to make it through the miserable 3rd quarter. Every commercial that ESPN ran that night started with a shot of my two drunk buddies & I. Chris Fowler even drew a circle around us with that yellow pen.

Regardless when Clinton made that ridiculous interception we went nuts & were over the wall as soon as Westerfield made contact with the ball on his field goal. I was the first one to reach the post in the north endzone and made a once in a lifetime jump to grab the crossbar. Pure adrenaline got me up on top where I made about 6 jumps before riding the post to the ground. I did see clear as day some poor guy get knocked out when the post hit him square in the head. My drunken friends & I continued to take it all in for the next 45 minutes.

This of course was merely the beginning of the evening.
