Let's help Croom solve a mystery

The Clarion Ledger this mroning had an article about the offense and it's drop-off in performance from last year. From reading the comments from Croom, he seems puzzled by this fact.

Let's help him come up with some reasons:

1) Dancing Dixon

2) When a hole opens in the line ( which is rare) Dixon goes the opposite way. I sit in the upper deck, east side. From up there you can see the plays developing. I have witnessed the above happen several times. Dixon can't see the hole I guess. He runs with his head down. Ducre is much better and finding and hitting what few openings that there are.

3) Handing the ball to Dixon up the middle on 1st down 90% of the time. (That really keeps them guessing!)

4) Starting a new center against the number 1 team in NCAA football. (I assume Croom was bluffing when he said he was going to do that. What an idiot)

5) Woody

6) Dancing Dixon

7) Woody

8) The metal plate in Croom's head that causes his stubborness.

Our offense absolutely sucked donkey balls last year. We've gone from 297 yards per game last year to 283 this year, for a decrease of 5%. The new clock rules have decreased the average number of plays per game in college football by close to 10%. Our yards per play is virtually the same as last year (4.39 yards per play in 2007 vs. 4.35 yards per play in 2008). So, again I ask, where is the dropoff in production from last year?

....you cocksucking liar. I just said that last year we made the plays, and only a couple of the pick sixes that we got had any outcome in whether or not we won or lost the game. Douchebag.

that would give us the confidence to make those plays to win games again this year. And I'm sure you said that last year wasn't an anomaly. That was the crux of the whole debate over the summer, whether or not last year was a fluke. Coach34 and I said it was. You and a few others said it wasn't.

"learned how to win." Boy was I wrong. As I recall it, you and C34 were acting like all that stuff was just blind luck, and I was saying that it wasn't luck, that we made the plays. Titus was in JPW's face the whole and so he threw a duck that our player was in a perfect position to catch. Not luck, just a great play by Titus and AJ. I never said we would get as many this year as we got last year, but I did think we had learned how to win.

coming from you? The king of all waffling, lying message board (I never said that, I was just kidding) idiots?

Second, it's horseshit. aGAIN, I simply said that we made the plays, that the pick sixes weren't blind luck, and that I thought we had learned how to win. And aGAIN, I was wrong.

But I did say repeatedly that those types of plays couldn't be replicated over the long term. When we have 6 pick-6s last year and the other 11 teams in the SEC only combine for 12, that tells me that it was kind of a fluke for us to have that many last year. Yes, we made the plays. But nobody can count on making those plays on a consistent basis.

BTW, props to you for admitting you were wrong. We're all wrong sometimes and it doesn't kill us to admit it. Not that I always admit it when I'm wrong, but I try to.

Not trying to get in the middle of y'all's quabble, but just say we don't make those two plays and finish the year 5-7 last year and no bowl. Followed up with 3-9 staring us in the face. That would be 5 losing seasons the James Bell way. Would there be any question from anyone, sheep included, the crxxms gets fired this year?

...is that we had 2 pick sixes that affected whether or not we won/lost the game, and both happened in the first half. And I said and still believe that we won game last year because of a great defense, just enough offense and just enough special teams. This year, we are losing because we no longer have just enough offense and special teams have been awful.

But I am more than happy to admit when I'm wrong. Unlike many on this board.

those 2 pick 6s were the difference between an 8-5 record and a 5-7 record last year, and were probably the determining 2 plays that will keep Crxxm's *** at MSU for 2009.
