Let's say that UMC does in-fact expand, and Veterans Memorial Stadium is razed...

Where would the high schoolState Championship games be held? I'm thinking they should alternate them between MSU, UM, and (I guess, USM). Seems like it would be a good thing not only for the Universities and their respective communities, but also for recruiting. Seems like it may help some of these kids want to stay in state if they get the opportunity to play a gameon one of the campuses.

The only flaw would be the cyclical 3year rotation. For instance, let's say if MSU really wanted a particularrecruit, but that year's game is in Oxford. I could see the issue with it pissing us off.

edited because apparently my iPad doesn't like me.

The MHSAA's deal with Jackson St. was a 1-year deal. They're putting it out for proposals starting with next year's championship games. My guess is we'll wind up with a 4-year rotation with MSU, UM, USM and JSU hosting the games.

In Alabama they rotate between Auburn and Tuscaloosa whatever team is not hosting the Ironbowl that year. this is what is wrong with Mississippi instead of us putting it in Oxford and Starkville we try to treat USM and Jackson state like they are someone they are not treat them like it.

In Alabama Tuscaloosa is in the northwestern part of the state and Auburn is in the southeast. So there's geographical balance. If we just rotated theMS championshipsbetween MSU & UM, it would be a big disadvantage to the schools in the south.

but is there not a JC in central MS with a large enough stadium to host it annually? I'm all for bringing in hs students and prospects, but I couldn't imagine asking southern MS people to drive above I-20 constantly. Maybe they'd enjoy the trip. I don't know.

have driven to Texas to play in a State Championship. I don't think geographic location is THAT important.

property. Memorial with be imploded, and the University will build new, bigger Clinical Science building in its place. That's what I have been told by someone who has great access to Keeton.

Tuscaloosa is in central Alabama on the west side of the State Auburn is basically in central Alabama on the east side of the State look at a map and you will see what I am saying. The game there used to be played in Birmingham that is on you guys terms northern Alabama it was never played in Montgomery. The state of Alabama treats Troy and UAB like they don't exist not to mentionschools like JacksonvilleState, North Alabama, South Alabama and others we should do the same. People will travel and go to the games. It is fine if people have to drive north of I 20 that is where the premier University's are people should come more often.

but as a product of a poor public school with poor families, I also understand that traveling long distances isn't always an easy thing for families of the athletes NOR the fanbases. That's why here in TN, they try to keep the games somewhere in the middle TN region.
It was just a thought though...

So MSU, USM, and Ole Miss could all host 2 per year, rotating who hosts which. But every year 2 in each stadium.<div>
</div><div>Are there 3 MPSA championship games per year? The same rule could apply. Or they could rotate between the 3 SWAC teams...</div>

consider Birmingham to be in central Alabama (technically, it's north central Alabama). Huntsville and Birmingham are a world apart.<div>
</div><div>Auburn is south of I-20 ... Alabama is barely north of I-20.</div>
