thank you to who ever suggested this book/series. Just got the first one read and starting the second. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I hope the rest are just as good.

I've read them all. Enjoy them immensely. Have you seen the TV show?

No I thought they were gonna do a movie not a TV show so I guess I will have to catch up on them. When I bought the next book yesterday it was advertising the show on SIFI. Did they do a good job on the show also. Kinda sad they didn't do a movie out of it that first book would have made for a great movie IMO.

I thought the show started slow, but picked up pretty quickly. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to season 2. Some of the characters looked very different than I had pictured them from reading the book. Especially Amos.

The books and TV series are really good. One of the few reads that get better with each installment

Cool. I'm traveling to England next month. Looks like I found my down time reading materials.

Yea just started the next book Caliban's War and just a couple chapters in it seems like it will be good also. I finally gave up on GRRM dropping Winds of Winter any time soon so I hope to knock a few of these out. At least these guys are dropping a book about every year.

I haven't read the latest one, but the rest of the book series, as well as the first season of the show, is really good.

On another note, I've been reading The Aeronaut's Windlass, the first book in a new series by Jim Butcher. He's the author of The Dresden Files, which is easily one of my all-time favorite series. It's kind of a weird, steampunk story. It seems like some kind of Victorian military drama between warring nations but, you know, with flying ships. I was a little worried about it through 50-60 pages, but I've really gotten into it since then. My only real gripe is that it's slowing down Butcher's writing on Dresden.

I read the Aeronauts Windlass last year. I rated it 4 out of 5 stars, but had to look up the summary b/c I couldn't remember the plot and not that much came back to me even then. So whatever that's worth. Butcher's Codex Alera series is pretty good if I remember correctly too.

I've about had it with authors leaving readers hanging. GRRM is the king, but there's a lot of other series I wish authors would get going. What is Patrick Rouhfous doing and where is Kingkiller #3?

On the other side of the coin, you're always safe reading Brandon Sanderson series. That guy writes like he has 6 hands and does shoeboxes of coke daily. He's got 3 or 4 series going at a time and publishes a couple of times a year at least.

Yeah, I don't understand what's up with Rothfuss. He supposedly had the whole trilogy written before the first one was published. I understand you edit things and that any changes cascade throughout the series, but damn, it's been more than five years since the last one came out with no end in sight. He's another one who I feel like has let the pressure of success get to him. He works on his novellas and TV deal but doesn't seem to be progressing on his bread and butter.
