Just saw that Lewis was downgraded from a 5 to a 4 star by Rivals. Could this be good news for Nebraska?

I don't think USC (or anyone else) is going to stop recruiting him hard just because he's no longer a 5*
There is a narrative that if a recruit is suspected of going to choose Nebraska that the recruiting services will drop their star ranking. It says they will drop their star ranking because Nebraska is a small population state and it will not be responsible for that many rating service subscriptions as would a USC, tOSU, Texa$ or Alabama would.
Because of the above, it is thought that a downgrade could mean they are headed to Nebraska.
Not saying this is true but it's been discussed here before.
I'd believe it. They push the star/ranking narrative on people so much that it almost becomes cult-like how much some fans hold onto it. Don't forget Rivals is owned by Yahoo and those people with Silicon Valley backgrounds know all the tricks in the book when it comes to manipulations for $$$.
Lindsey is now all the way down to 62... How many rating changes happened between his injury and now? I'm guessing 3 or 4 since he was at Ohio State. Now he commits to Nebraska he drops 20 spots
He didn't perform well at the camps against top competition. They also said it was part due to other WRs showing better than they thought. Still a great get!!
I haven't heard this much conspiracy theory since the elections. I can see a guy in his back room sitting at his computer compiling ratings and then comparing where they might go to adjust the ratings accordingly. That would be an insane task. Then of course someone has to explain has why some recruits get upgraded after committing to Nebraska.

While we're on the topic of rankings, I thought Deontre Thomas was supposed to get a bump to 4*?
Seems like Rivals updates their ratings quarterly. Around 30 - 35 will be 5*'s. If you're not in that top 30ish players in the country, you won't be a 5*.

He's more of a raw prospect coming out of that high school, but who knows what those guys are thinking. Let's face it. It's all guesswork. Most of those raters haven't even played college football let alone coached at that level. As Jim Mora said, "They THINK they know, but they don't know. And they never will."
Saw on another site that it seems USC made room for Lewis after they had a 3 star wr decommit,making it sound like it is about a done deal Lewis goes to USC
One of Iowa's commits just moved to a 5-star. Must of been the product of someone else moving down.
