I tend to come and go from the board so I may have missed this already being discussed, but to me the season turned when Melvin Lewis went down. How big of a difference do you all think a healthy Lewis could have made on the outcome of our season?

Losing Lewis certainly hurt. However the disfunction on offense is what killed the season. If we could score points and have fewer 3 and outs then win 7 maybe even 8 games. As far as turning points go it would have to be the Boom situation following Missouri. Boom may have returned but the team crumbled at that point. We never played a decent quarter of football after that.

Loosing Lewis hurt for sure, but, would have been the same outcome. Hope he heals & has a future in football ahead of him.

The problem is we had a talented group of receivers and a QB with NFL talent that actually regressed as the season went on.

It took away the the best defensive lineman and reduced depth to almost nothing. I think it could have been the difference in the Vandy game had he played.

Much truth here!
