Unfortunately the problem is the fact that panhandling is lucrative in Lexington.

The city has started a program where they'll literally pick people up off the street and let them pick up trash around the city for $9 an hour 6 hours a day but a lot of them won't do it because they can make easier money begging.

work to welfare works when everyone wants the right solution. this program needs to keep running to help these folks off their feet, but the folks have to commit as well.

I leave Lexington and the city falls apart. No surprise really.

Worth it, IMO.

Has anyone ever been hit up by the short haired lesbian chick? I'll say this, she treats begging like a JOB! Hits up EVERY CAR, whether it be at a gas station, Hamburg parking lot, or a Sonic Drive In.

A high school classmate of mine outed her on Facebook and got all the hens pecking for a couple of weeks.

Someone videod a 'shift change' a few days ago. Guy handed the other dude the same sign he was using.

Several years ago in Nashville, a scraggly looking fella came up to my car and asked for two dollars. So I asked him why he needed two bucks. He said "Man, I need to get...... Hell, I ain't gonna lie. I need a drink." I started laughing and gave him 5 bucks for being honest.
