I like Merrick Inn but to me it's selling point is atmosphere as opposed to food.

I really hope Lexington burger week happens again next year. That was fun

Merrick Inn is the only dinner spot id recommend in Lexington.

Honestly, the best meal in Lexington (especially for the price) is probably from Gastro Gnomes food truck.

-Just a few clicks revealed that Cheddars has 10 locations in Florida, 10 in Texas (which is where they are based), 10 in Arkansas, 10 in Kentucky........I didn't check any other states in the South, but I'd be willing to bet they have about 10 in each state.

-Old Chicago has a least 50......maybe in Colorado alone.
-Bone fish lists by state....soooo.....

All 3 are HUGE chains.

There's about 140 Cheddars total. I only know this because my wife does accounting for about 40 of them.

Never known Lexington to have good seafood anyways.
Well check it out, you may change your mind. While we're on the subject I've been told that this area, specifically Louisville, is the first to receive the U.S. lobster shipments. I think it has to do with the main UPS hub being in Louisville.

I always enjoyed Shamrocks when I lived in Lexington. Very good burgers, chili and meatloaf. Very underrated.

You can get a good look at a steak by sticking your head up a bull's ***, but wouldn't you want to take the butcher's word for it?

^I worked out at Toyota for a few yrs and the Japanese workers out there said that School is really the only place that even remotely comes close to Japan.

My wife and I love it. "Crunch'N'Munch" is like crack.

^I said that my wife and I like the Crunch and Munch......which has little to do with the "close to Japan" comment which was made by the Japanese.

They were also very quick to note that it's not that they felt School was fantastic.....just the best that Lexington had to offer.

Blue Door Smokehouse
County Club
Cole's 735 Main
Meadowthorpe Cafe
Stella's Deli
The Blue Heron
Yamaguchi
Nat's

From all the responses I've seen this man knows his food the best. All quality places, and a couple that many don't know about.

My list, in no particular order, would look something like (trying to include various styles and price ranges):

Yamaguchi
County Club
Sabio
Tony's
Winchells
Nat's
Table 310
Giuseppes
Lexington Diner
Pies n Pints
Blue Door
Malones
Spaldings
North Lime Donuts
Indi's/Richies chicken

All probably the places I eat the most, and just extremely rare that any experience I ever have at any of them is anything but good. All good quality and all consistent.

Saw someone mention breakfast. Winchells has the best breakfast. Wild Eggs is good. First Watch is meh and not all that imo. That poster's pick was hands down McGees bakery. I guess it depends on what you are getting. It's not up there for me because they're gravy sucks big time. It's a shame too because they have nice fluffy biscuits, but the gravy is blech.

Old Chicago-for some reason my friends aren't big fans but I love this place. Above average prices but the beer tour is a necessary evil and the food is always on point for me. 8.5/10
Just went. The beer is great, in fact a couple of Country boys are interfering with my typing right now. More than a couple. The pizza was good, but that Pizza Hut pan crust is a far cry from a real Chicago pizza. It's good but, damn, thats just wrong.

This guy seems to know what he's talking about. Rack'em

Winchell's is the best breakfast in the country. I'll give that up when I find a better one, and I still haven't....what a gem.

Old Chicago deep pan or whatever it's called isn't Chicago pizza, BUT it tastes exactly like Pizza Hut's pan pizza used to taste like before the chain went to crap. It's uncanny.
