I like Merrick Inn but to me it's selling point is atmosphere as opposed to food.
I really hope Lexington burger week happens again next year. That was fun

I try to avoid big chains like Applebees, Cheddars, etc etc.
Bonefish Grill
Old Chicago
Well check it out, you may change your mind. While we're on the subject I've been told that this area, specifically Louisville, is the first to receive the U.S. lobster shipments. I think it has to do with the main UPS hub being in Louisville.Never known Lexington to have good seafood anyways.
Cheddar's, Old Chicago, Bonefish. [laughing]
I hereby nominate the thread starter (OP) for the capaws simpleton Hall of Fame, alongside JonathanW and DSmith.
All in favor?
I like to go to a few places in town. Usually Azuka, Tomo, and/or Mandarin. Where do you usually go?There is some decent sushi in town. Still miss seki though.
Blue Door Smokehouse
County Club
Cole's 735 Main
Meadowthorpe Cafe
Stella's Deli
The Blue Heron
Yamaguchi
Nat's
Just went. The beer is great, in fact a couple of Country boys are interfering with my typing right now. More than a couple. The pizza was good, but that Pizza Hut pan crust is a far cry from a real Chicago pizza. It's good but, damn, thats just wrong.Old Chicago-for some reason my friends aren't big fans but I love this place. Above average prices but the beer tour is a necessary evil and the food is always on point for me. 8.5/10
From all the responses I've seen this man knows his food the best. All quality places, and a couple that many don't know about.
My list, in no particular order, would look something like (trying to include various styles and price ranges):
Yamaguchi
County Club
Sabio
Tony's
Winchells
Nat's
Table 310
Giuseppes
Lexington Diner
Pies n Pints
Blue Door
Malones
Spaldings
North Lime Donuts
Indi's/Richies chicken
All probably the places I eat the most, and just extremely rare that any experience I ever have at any of them is anything but good. All good quality and all consistent.
Saw someone mention breakfast. Winchells has the best breakfast. Wild Eggs is good. First Watch is meh and not all that imo. That poster's pick was hands down McGees bakery. I guess it depends on what you are getting. It's not up there for me because they're gravy sucks big time. It's a shame too because they have nice fluffy biscuits, but the gravy is blech.
