I used to be jealous of people with below average intelligence like yourself, as I believed it provided a much easier path to contentment and faith. But I’ve come to appreciate that the world must be so confusing and overwhelming to process for a simple-minded man, which is why you react out of emotion, and even fear, instead of engaging in thoughtful discussion and debate.

Bless your heart.

I don’t hate America (also not a dem), but going about doing the things we are doing and the ways we are doing them threatens the notion of America. The ends cannot justify the means or else we are no better than Russia, China, North Korea, etc.

Take Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Their government lied to them and said it was to root out Nazi Fascists. Now take this situation, our government lied to us and to congress and said a) it was about drugs; and b) there would be no attacks on land without congressional approval; yet here we are: there are no Nazis in Ukraine and the US is firing on another country then abducting their despot leader while talking about oil.

The world may be a better place without him in charge (time will tell), but there is a way to go about these things and uphold the true notion of America while also not being seen as imperialists.

James Monroe and Teddy Roosevelt enter the chat. Not going to elaborate. Pax Americana. Carry on!

I understand your references but they present an interesting dichotomy to the MAGA concept - those instances make the US the world police (at least the Western hemisphere). Interesting to put America first while having to spend billions policing other countries.

I understand your perspective and I have some, not all, of your concerns. But, as I posted in another thread, there's more to this than simply oil IMO. Russia, China, Hezbolla and likely others were being welcomed into Venezuela. From a US strategic or national security perspective that's too close for our comfort. Now you can disagree that this makes a difference in this day and age, but our leaders, for as far back as JFK, have had this belief and/or concern.

Now going into Venezuela and snatching their leader is another question.

But this entire situation has a ways to go before resolution.

I don’t necessarily disagree. But what is partially so annoying is the lying. And I get that national security and spec ops can’t be put on blast, but there is a process. You know what you haven’t heard? Fentanyl. So much so that Rubio actually had to say “cocaine is bad too”. But you’ll have folks (looking at you @TigerGrowls) who will glom onto what trump says and not only treat it like gospel, but spread the fing word with righteous indignation via spam posting and rage baiting. 50,000 American lives. Complete with videos of fentanyl fiends doubled over backwards. And while those videos are tragic, it literally had zero to do with attacking Venezuela for its oil.

Now on to the other trumpian issue, if you give a pig a pancake…it’ll want Greenland.

Your peeps abandoned their principles

This here is the real reason I don't respect the Maga's on this board. You literally made arguments for non interventionism running up to Trump's election.
I even stated it was a good thing Trump got us out of the middle east.
Now look at all of you, blood thirsty war mongers, because Trump did it.

The hypocrisy and complete disregard for consistency of argument is perhaps my BIGGEST issue with MAGA, right below their tolerance and acceptance of misinformation/propaganda as the biggest issue.

There is no hypocrisy at all. Ukraine losing territory while bad is not a US National Security threat. Venezuela and other leftist nations in the western hemisphere directly affecting the US heartland is a national security threat. I support Trumps actions in Venezuela. I am not as excited about middle east intervention but it was a surgical strike. President Trump has my full support.

Just wait until you hear about the daycares in Greenland that Democrat NGO's are channeling money to fraudulently. The only way to root it out is to take it over. America First!

This is simple not true at all. Go read a book about the history of Ukraine and Russia. Look at what happen in WW2. You will understand something and realize how we are being lied to about Nazi's and Ukraine. Also the AZOV's are nazi's...

And what about all the misinformation and propaganda you guys have fallen for over the years? Even now after info has been declassified and the facts put out people on the left still spout the lies and defend it...

You're going to have to actually support statements like that with facts, rather than just vomit out talking points and expect people to accept them.

Venezuela is not a significant source of fentanyl for the U.S. market; most fentanyl is produced in Mexico using precursor chemicals from Asia. The country is primarily involved in cocaine trafficking, serving as a transit route rather than a producer of fentanyl.
