Liberty (Bealeton), a pretty darn good record.

You have to go back to last century to find a losing record for the Eagles. In 1999 they put up a 2-7 number. But since then, they have been on a tear. How about 142-44. And virtually every year they have been in the playoffs. Most years two or three games deep.

Last season the boys from Rt. 17 didn't quite rise to the standard they have established for themselves, finishing 6-5. They did however, keep their string of playoff appearances alive. GW showed them the door last November, 42-16.

I see a lot of really big kids on their roster for this fall. I'm not sure about the so called "skilled positions", (I hate that term, it's so wrong), but it looks like both the O and D lines will return some experienced players.

How about it, you guys from up in the horse country? Can we look for the Eagles to bounce back and make a real run in the playoffs? (I'm saying 7-3 regular season).

Liberty has been steadily getting better over the last few years. Kettle Run opening really hurt them as far as 4A competition goes. Great program, great people involved. I love making the trip up to Bealeton whenever Sherando plays them.

I had the good fortune of wiring a home just outside of Bealeton a few years back. From the inspector, to the power company, to the neighbors that just stopped in out of curiosity, what a terrific bunch of people up that way. Gorgeous county too. One of the highlights of my career.

Liberty will continue to drop off. I look for a 5-5 record agajn. They lost a lot of key players and the JV team wasn't that good. Also most of those wins are from Coach Buzzo who is at Brooke Point now. Coach Finnerty took over and did good things with them the season they went to JF but not much since then.
